Section Manager Hardware-Firmware

STR is seeking a Section Manager to join our System Development Division’s Engineering Management team. The position will report to the Engineer Executive within SDD. The position will be responsible for the people, technology, and ability of the group to execute in its area of expertise.

Responsibilities will include:

• Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and mentor junior engineers

• Demonstrated technology vision and strategy as well as the ability to achieve vision
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex programs

• Effective delegation skills
• Effectively manage competing priorities
• Providing expertise in proposal writing and work estimation
• Ability to give clear direction and constructive feedback to Staff
• Monitoring progress against individual goals and program goals
• Advocate for DE&I

Requirements

• Active Secret Clearance (Active Top Secret Clearance preferred)
• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience (R&D).
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
• Strong presentation and organizational skills
• Demonstrated expertise in electronic hardware design and firmware

Desired

• Prior people management
• Demonstrated ability to develop technology roadmaps
• Experience managing and performing on Research and Development programs
• Experience with Programs of Record
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
