HDR is looking for an experienced Senior Security and Communications design professional to manage our team in Orlando, FL. This individual will be responsible for providing expertise and mentoring to our designers and BIM staff as well as for the production of facilities related telecommunication, security and miscellaneous low voltage systems for a variety of markets including Healthcare, Water/Wastewater, Municipal, Industrial, and Federal Clients. They will be responsible for the operation of a production group including staff development, workflow and forecasting, scheduling, profitability, morale, and quality control. They will function as a technical lead on projects in addition to staff management responsibilities. They will also be administratively responsible for the group as well as technical service functions and will lead and coordinate services with other disciplines.

Primary responsibilities:

• This individual will be involved with clients in project production and related issues, and the implementation, monitoring and support of company policy.
• Select, train, develop, and manage technical personnel as well as help identify and recruit talented staff to enable our Security and LV section to grow to meet the design needs of this segment of HDR's work.
• Coordinate workload between design centers across HDR.
• Execute design, coordinating and working closely with multidiscipline design teams throughout the entire life cycle of projects from planning stages, through the development of construction documents, and construction administration.
• Responsible for the development of drawings, specifications, and any required supporting calculations, as well as the review of shop drawings during construction.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in low-voltage communications systems design and/or construction required
• Must have the ability to manage, lead and mentor team members
• Technical knowledge of communications systems design and drawing production is a must
• This position is subject to a governmental background check; due to client contract requirements, only candidates with US citizenship will be considered for this position as permitted pursuant to section 274B(a)(2)(C) of the Immigration and Nationality Act

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar specialty preferred
• A background in communication systems design preferred
• Working knowledge of codes and requirements governing Federal and Military projects preferred
• Experience in installing, maintaining, and programing enterprise Level systems such as Lenel, AMAG, Hirsch/Velocity, Vindicator, Milestone and Genetec preferred
• Experience with large network communications and wireless technologies such as Cisco preferred
• Local candidates are preferred
