About the Position: Serves as HWAD's Antiterrorism (AT)/Force Protection (FP) Security Specialist. Provides support and technical guidance to operating contractor security personnel and tenant activities.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
- Specialist will be Anti-Terrorism Officer (ATO) Advanced Course certified IAW AR 525-13. IAW DoDI 2000.16; must attend a comprehensive AT/FP exercise or attend AT/FP training annually.
- Required to sign a DA Form 5019-R and must pass urinalysis testing, as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Certificate of completion of the IMCOM or US Army Military Police School (USAMPS) Antiterrorism Training Course Level II.
- Subject to 24-hour recall to perform emergency response duties. May include tour(s) of duty on weekends or nights to support training for or during actual emergency operations.
- Position requires employee to obtain and maintain a valid state and government passenger vehicle driver license.
- Travel outside local commuting area may be required up to approximately 25% of duty time.
- Position is considered emergency essential. Failure to remain in position may result in separation for the efficiency of the Federal Service.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes - Conducting studies and/or special surveys to evaluate vulnerability, crisis management, and/or response to increased threat. Establishing a training program to identify terrorist threats and protective systems for all installation personnel. And providing technical guidance and/or assistance on security plans, procedures, and program standards. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

- This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and Major Range and Test Facilities Base, NDAA 1125 (a) and (c) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
