Sr. ABAP Developer

This position is responsible for identifying and delivering on innovative solutions to complex business problems within the Allegion SAP environment. The selected candidate will work closely with Business Analysts and partners to plan, design, test, and implement solutions with a consideration for re-use of code and easy to maintain enhancements. In addition, the selected candidate will provide technical support for software issues and integrations with other business systems.

What You Will Do:

• Support / maintain the SAP production systems and debug system issues.
• Evaluate, interpret, and understand Functional specifications for highly complex custom development.
• Works with Business Analysts and end-users to design and develop technical requirements for the custom SAP solutions including reports, interfaces, conversions, and enhancements.
• Work with other developers to deliver new and enhanced capabilities for the SAP system.
• Performs debugging and unit testing of application solutions and integrations as needed.
• Collaborates with in-house technical, functional, and end user team members, as well as third-party vendors.
• Creates and modifies application user interface code and back-end logic based on business requirements.
• Participates on impact assessments of all changes being requested, in partnership leaders and Business Analysts.
• Ensure smooth integration and/or rollout of systems into the operational environment by coordinating closely with the affected functional and technical teams.
• Creates and executes unit tests and provides input into regression testing considerations.
• Engages with the other Allegion Enterprise IT teams and users to architect and develop secure and stable application solutions.
• Produces technical specifications based on functional design specifications (customizations, integrations, interfaces).
• Gains knowledge and experience with Allegion business processes and multiple ERP platforms globally.
• Seeks opportunities to reduce complexity and improve application performance.
• Creates and updates required documentation to support the system and users

What You Need to Succeed:

• 8+ years of ABAP development experience in SAP ECC version 6.0 or higher.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline preferred
• In depth experience in at least one SAP business module (PP, MM, FI, CO, etc.) and some working knowledge in 2 or more
• Excellent hands-on experience in all types of ABAP development (reports, enhancements, interfaces, function modules and module pool).
• Strong understanding of ABAP objects (Object Oriented concepts) with hands on working knowledge being preferred.
• Strong understanding and hands on experience of BADI's, BAPIs, Proxies, switch framework, ALE, EDI, IDOCs, Web services and Web Dynpro's is required with hands on working knowledge preferred.
• Experience with SAP Smart forms and Adobe Forms.
• Experience with SAP Workflow and workflow concepts.
• Have a passion for technology and willingness to explore and adopt emerging technologies for practical business purposes.
• Bring an upbeat, positive attitude while enjoying working with an agile team to develop innovative technical solutions to help enable business growth and improve customer satisfaction.
• Be apt at quickly understanding new business domains and be creative and thoughtful about applying technology to improve processes and issues.
• Ability to quickly build proof-of-concept solutions that are forward looking to how they could be implemented on a larger scale.
• Demonstrated experience modeling the innovation behaviors of questioning, observing, experimenting, networking, and associating.
• Be self-motivated with good time management skills.
• Ability to identify issues, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices.
• Experience in working with the latest technologies and cloud concepts.
• Openness and willingness to cross-skill and train in Dynamics AX / D365 and Oracle 11i.
• Limited travel is required
