About the National Team

Our National Strategic Accounts team is focused on establishing partnerships with large, nationally recognized franchise brands, businesses or corporations whose presence on the platform brings brand recognition that positively impacts the overall health of the marketplace and drives revenue growth for the company.

About the Role

If you are a self-starter,  have a strong sense of ownership and the ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment, this role offers significant opportunity.  The Sr. Account Executive role will directly impact the overall growth of Thumbtack by expanding, creating and maintaining a framework for ensuring that our business partner’s expectations are exceeded resulting in improved quality of pros on the platform while driving revenue for the company. Requiring Minimal to no oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities, as well as  key decision makers and/or key influencers within an organization, including: C-level executives, VPs and other leaders, to sell Thumbtack as a meaningful lead source
  • Become an expert in the Thumbtack product and clearly articulate why every business professional needs the product as part of their business plan
  • Work hand-in-hand with Account Managers and strategize methods to ensure every account is thriving and successful on Thumbtack
  • Work closely with Thumbtack leadership and product teams to identify opportunities with these accounts, product features required to service them, then help to build the business case for developing these features 
  • Build the foundation of a much larger enterprise sales team by helping to build out the playbook, tools, processes, etc. that will enable the team to scale

What you’ll need

  • 5+ years of sales experience (preferably at the corporate or enterprise level) 
  • You are a Hunter - You are proactive, self motivated, excellent researcher and problem solver
  • You are strategic - You have a proven framework that targets early access to key players, control of committee decisions, control of the proposal process, and control of the sales cycle without over controlling the buyer
  • Ability to use consultative, solution selling to drive partners to a decision by helping them achieve a goal, solve a problem, or satisfy a need
  • Ability to gain in-depth knowledge of clients’ business needs, organizational structure, business processes and financial structure
  • Ability to leverage both internal and external resources/partners to drive results

Bonus points if you have

  • Experience with Customer Centric Selling
  • Experience in the home, construction, or franchise industry
  • Well versed in SalesForce

For candidates living in the US, the expected salary + commissions On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for this role is currently $130,000 - $150,000. Actual offered OTE will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, proficiency for the role, and various factors that will be laid out in a commission plan.
