About the role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, hands-on individual to join our team as a Senior GL & Consolidation Accountant. This opportunity requires an experienced individual with an accounting background, high attention to detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and an enthusiastic attitude. Candidates must have the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities, thrive in a highly driven environment, enjoy learning new skills, procedures, and systems, and have an overall desire to contribute to company growth.
This will be a remote position and can be based anywhere in the UK
In this role, you will:
- Monitor intercompany activities and perform reconciliations of the intercompany balances and resolve any discrepancies at month end closing
- Ensure appropriate functional currency determinations and worldwide FX questions are resolved in partnership with Treasury
- Support the month-end, quarter-end, year-end consolidation close process
- Assist in managing financial accounting and reporting activities for all International subsidiaries of our company
- Support various special projects and ad-hocs projects
- Assist in resolution of any accounting and internal control issues related to International accounting operations
- Improve timeliness and accuracy of financial closing and reporting for International entities
- Assist in cross-functional initiatives and communicate progress effectively
- Identify areas of improvement and make actionable suggestions
- Support the external audit process
- Act as a thought leader, build trusted relationships, influence decisions and drive urgency on critical matters
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting/finance
- Qualified ACA or ACCA
- Relevant Intercompany and Consolidation experience
- Excellent analytical, technical and auditing skills including proficiency in US GAAP
An ideal candidate also has:
- Experience working under strict deadlines and ensuring compliance with company policies
- Must be a fast learner, multi-tasker with a strong desire to learn and a ‘can do’ attitude
- Able to work with a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of operational accounting processes
- Must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively
- Experience with NetSuite and intermediate Excel skills strongly preferred
- Critical thinker, able to implement scalable processes
- Strong organization skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
