Forge is a fast growing, exciting and agile business. We are looking for a Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting Senior Accountant who will play a critical role in building out the processes of the reporting and technical accounting functions. Reporting to the Manager of Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting, this role will support and collaborate with internal business partners, prepare financial statements and related documents, analyze significant complex accounting transactions, maintain technical areas of the general ledger, and conduct research for new accounting disclosures.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the preparation and/or review of financial statements and footnote disclosures for Form 10-Qs and Form 10-Ks as well as earnings materials and other SEC filings on an ad-hoc basis
- Prepare quarterly cash flow statements, statements of stockholders’ equity, earnings per share, and other technical accounting workbooks
- Prepare footnote support schedules and tie-out binders for SEC filings and disclosure checklists
- Prepare monthly equity and lease journal entries and other technical accounting journal entries on an ad-hoc basis
- Perform quarterly fluctuation analyses and other management reporting duties as necessary
- Perform technical accounting research and prepare/update quarterly memos, such as the goodwill impairment analysis, segment reporting, intangible asset impairment analysis, capitalized software, etc.
- Monitor, assess and implement new accounting pronouncements applicable to the Company
- Work cross-functionally with other groups and monitor business activities to ensure timely identification of accounting and financial reporting matters
- Work with external auditors to support quarter-end reviews and year-end audits by providing timely and accurate data and communications
- Review new customer agreements to assess accounting treatment and suggest proper terms and structure with respect to US GAAP treatment
- Assist in special accounting and finance projects on an ad-hoc basis
Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of organization
- Proficient in use of technology, especially Microsoft Office products
- Strong analytical abilities combined with accounting knowledge and ability to research and resolve issues independently
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize with minimal supervision
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Results-driven, high-energy team player that approaches challenges in a fast moving and high-pressure environment with enthusiasm
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or CPA candidate
- 3+ years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) or equivalent experience working in a technical accounting/reporting role, public company experience preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP/ SEC accounting and reporting requirements; exposure to ASC 842, ASC 718 and ASC 606 is a plus
- NetSuite and/or Workiva experience is desirable
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time in an office setting or in home office setting while working
