Senior Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller

About the Role
As a Senior Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller, you will lead key day-to-day financial operations and compliance functions. In this high-impact role will oversee the month-end closing process and partner with the Controller and peers to drive continuous improvement in financial operations. This is an opportunity to lead the development and implementation of processes and internal controls to support our growing organization.
What You’ll Do
- Manage key accounting operations including oversight of the general ledger, monthly close and financial controls as well as accounts payable and payroll
- Provide direction and mentoring to accounting staff
- Implement policies and procedures in anticipation of an IPO
- Oversight of the general ledger, including month-end/quarter-end/year-end close activities (journal entries, reconciliations, P&L review, etc.)
- Review payroll and be a resource for related compliance matters
- Maintain consolidation for all foreign entities
- Establish, monitor, and enforce internal policies, procedures, and controls
- Support preparation for and coordinate financial statement audits and tax compliance reporting (federal/state/sales tax filings and other compliance)
What We’re Looking For
Skills
- 5+ years of experience in senior accounting roles, which would likely include several years with a well-respected public accounting firm
- You understand internal controls/SOX
- Experience managing and developing staff
- Experience working with federal and state taxes
- You have prior involvement in conducting audits
- Knowledge of accounting systems (Intacct preferred) and strong Excel skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Business required and CPA preferred
