This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior AI Vertical Mini-Series Director in the United States.
This role sits at the intersection of storytelling, short-form entertainment, and cutting-edge AI video production, shaping the next generation of vertical drama content at massive scale. You will lead the end-to-end creation of episodic mini-series designed for mobile-first audiences, combining strong narrative instincts with emerging AI production tools. Working within a fast-growing, globally distributed team, you will help define a new content category where creativity, speed, and experimentation are central. The environment is highly collaborative and innovation-driven, with direct access to AI copilots and advanced generative tools. Accountabilities:
- Own the full production lifecycle of 1–2 vertical mini-series at a time, including scripting, directing, editing, and final delivery of 10–15 short episodes per series plus trailers.
- Develop compelling episodic narratives optimized for vertical formats, with strong hooks, pacing, and cliffhangers designed for high engagement.
- Leverage AI-powered tools and in-house systems to ensure character consistency, casting support, and scalable content generation workflows.
- Collaborate closely with AI content creators, engineers, and creative leadership to refine production processes and storytelling quality.
- Continuously iterate on content performance, applying feedback and data insights to improve storytelling impact and viewer retention.
- Contribute to the evolution of internal AI-assisted production pipelines and creative best practices for vertical storytelling.
- 4+ years of experience in directing, showrunning, or producing short-form narrative video content, ideally in vertical or mobile-first formats.
- Strong storytelling and scripting abilities, with expertise in pacing, episodic structure, and emotional engagement techniques.
- Familiarity with AI video or generative content tools (e.g., Runway, Sora, Kling, Veo, Pika, or similar), with a willingness to deepen expertise.
- Proven ability to independently manage end-to-end creative production under tight timelines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with fluency in English and experience working in distributed teams.
- Highly proactive, execution-driven mindset with strong ownership and comfort in fast-moving environments.
- Open to feedback, adaptable, and motivated to continuously learn and experiment with new creative technologies.
