Senior Android Software Engineer

What you will do:

• Maintaining, improving, and developing features for our mobile app suite using Kotlin, Android SDK
• Consuming the numerous RESTful and GraphQL APIs of Canvas
• Building out automated ui tests and tools using technologies such as Espresso
• Creating new features with close collaboration with the product/design team
• Researching new technologies to leverage for app development
• Our technology stack: Kotlin, Coroutines, Retrofit, Apollo GraphQL, MVVM with LiveData and Data Binding, Hilt, Jetpack Compose

What you need to know

• 4+ years experience in professional Android development
• Experience with releasing apps on Google Play Console
• Deep understanding of Kotlin, Android SDK, Kotlin coroutines, design patterns, Android architecture, unit and UI testing
• Ability and willingness to mentor and express concepts among cross functional teams clearly and succinctly
• Computer Science related degree or equivalent work experience

Nice to have

• Experience with mobile CI/CD systems (Bitrise)
• Experience with Jetpack Compose
