Senior Application Portfolio Development Specialist

Job Description:

Dynamo Technologies is seeking a Senior Application Portfolio Development Specialist to support the U.S. Forest Service (FS) team with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of deployed applications, agile development of new applications and modernization of legacy applications using both custom and low-code approaches.

Duties/ Responsibilities 

• Provide development support to an application portfolio which contains a wide array of technology stacks from low-code to custom, consists of many data interfaces and APIs, and exists in various stages of the SDLC with several new projects in progress and a large portion of the portfolio nearing end-of-life.
• Be able to look across the portfolio and provide strategy and guidance as the government modernizes and implements new technologies and replaces legacy ones.
• Provide development support to a variety of applications including but not limited to implementation of end to end hiring initiatives, API creation, database migrations, and server migrations.
• Quickly build familiarity and understanding of the application portfolio, stepping into the role of technical lead for a number of applications.
• Support creation technical documentation (wiki) for maintenance of legacy applications.
• Support data ETL processes utilizing PowerShell scripts.
• Use Agency approved and specified GitHub repository to store source code, document code, release packages, and associated artifacts.
• Write clean and efficient code, following best practices and coding standards.
• Support new projects and tasks for software development projects as requested by the government

Required Skills/Abilities

• At least 7 years of strong hands-on software development experience
• At least 7 years of experience in developing products/applications in C# using .NET Framework with MVC
• Experience working with ASP.NET Web Forms
• Ability to read/write SQL queries
• Experience with agile development
• Familiar with Git and GitHub (branching, merging, code review, pull request, etc.)
• Experience working with Oracle databases
• Experience with SQL Server and migrating data into SQL Server
• Proficient in JavaScript
• Proficient in PowerShell Scripting
• Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including reading comprehension, writing correspondences, leading meetings with customers

Nice to Have:

• Experience working for Federal or State govt is preferred
• Bachelor of Science in IT, Software Engineering, or a related field

• 7+ years of development experience

Salary:

• $130k-140k
