Senior Backend Infrastructure Engineer

This role is a high-impact engineering position focused on building and scaling secure, cloud-native backend systems for enterprise-grade SaaS platforms. You will be responsible for designing robust multi-tenant architectures and ensuring strong data isolation, performance, and reliability across production environments. Working remotely within a global engineering setup, you will collaborate closely with DevOps, product, and frontend teams to deliver scalable solutions. The position requires deep hands-on expertise in backend development with Python (FastAPI) and strong experience across Google Cloud Platform services. You will play a key role in architectural decisions, production readiness, and infrastructure optimization. This is an opportunity to shape core backend systems in a high-scale, cloud-first environment with strong ownership and technical influence.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Python (FastAPI), ensuring high performance and reliability in production environments.
• Architect and implement multi-tenant SaaS systems with strict data isolation, secure access control, and robust Firestore security rules.
• Develop and optimize cloud-native infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, including Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Firestore, IAM, and Google Cloud Storage.
• Define and implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, automating build, testing, and deployment workflows for Cloud Run services.
• Ensure production readiness by conducting reviews of scalability, security, performance, and infrastructure configurations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance on backend and cloud architecture best practices.

Requirements:

• 13+ years of experience in backend development, distributed systems, and cloud architecture.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Python, with deep experience in FastAPI and API design.
• Proven experience working with Google Cloud Platform services such as Cloud Run, Firestore, Pub/Sub, IAM, and GCS.
• Solid background in designing and scaling multi-tenant SaaS applications in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, system design, and cloud security principles.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to lead technical discussions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in distributed teams.
