Job Description
We are looking for a seasoned brand and visual designer to help build and evolve the Course Hero brand. This role sits within our Brand Creative team, a small but mighty multi-disciplinary team of designers and writers, responsible for crafting Course Hero’s look and feel. With a focus on creativity and quality, this team helps ensure all brand, marketing, and product touch points reinforce Course Hero’s brand promise.Â
As the Senior Brand Designer, you’ll design for all channels and touch points, including our product, social, email, video, and events. This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with the Director of Brand Design, writers, product teams and marketers to craft new and compelling ways to share Course Hero with millions of students. You’ll operate at both a strategic and hands-on level, bringing a well-trained design eye to refine the craft, consistency, and quality of Course Hero’s brand. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver, has a passion for crafting meaningful stories, and is excited by the challenge of helping students learn faster, better, and more affordably.Â

- Understand the business and deliver world-class creative brand experiences in a fast-paced environment
- Guide, evolve, and maintain a growing brand design system that supports product and marketingÂ
- Extend the reach of brand design by thinking at a systems level and creating solutions that scale
- Craft stories to explain product benefits in simple yet memorable waysÂ
- Collaborate with marketing, product design, and growth teams to concept and execute campaigns, product features, and communications that support a seamless study experienceÂ
- Articulate how design decisions impact the company's overall goals and objectives
- Enhance our in-house skill set by managing or guiding the work of outside agencies or freelancers
Are you our Senior Brand Designer?
- 8+ years of experience with a high-caliber portfolio of relevant workÂ
- Expertise in color, typography, layout, and composition
- Ambitious creative thinking, you have storytelling and visual design skills to create impactful brand and marketing experiences
- Builds creative that achieves marketing and business objectives - you consider metrics, performance & overall business strategy in all of your work
- Effectively presents work & communicate ideas to a variety of audiences and stakeholders
- Ability to lead all aspects of a project, from high-level concepting to production of final assets
- Highly organized, you create order out of ambiguity, creating structure that makes it easy for others to participate and build off of your work
- Builds strong relationships with team members and cross functional partnersÂ
- Experience art directing and guiding the work of freelancers, illustrators and motion graphics designers
- Leads an iterative design process and is open to feedback

We are a virtual-first company and have employees dispersed throughout the United States and Canada. We have a market-based pay structure that varies by location. The base pay for this position is dependent on multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed below. You may also be eligible to participate in our bonus program and may be offered an equity award, benefits, and other types of compensation.
In accordance with California law, the base salary for this role if filled within California is $126,000 - $228,000.
In accordance with Colorado law, the base salary for this role if filled within Colorado is $126,000 - $193,800.
In accordance with New York law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York is $126,000 - $216,600.
In accordance with Washington law, the base salary for this role if filled within Washington is $126,000 - $205,200.
