Microsoft Entra is seeking a Sr. Business Program Manager (Finance), whose role is to assist business partners and stakeholders with timely, accurate, accessible, and complete information in Microsoft's financial systems. This role will need to collaborate with finance & engineering teams across different parts of the company and set timelines, workbacks and deliverables that enable the end-to-end rhythm of business planning processes for the copany.
Additionally, this role will facilitate implementation of various business models that need to be integrated into end-to-end corporate planning, forecasting, and reporting processes. This is a role that would partner closely with engineering and finance teams to assess the impact of incorporating new business drivers, business models, key performance indicators, and other financial analysis and reporting requirements into existing systems and processes.
As a successful candidate, you will show passion for collaboration in driving data-driven decisions and the related analysis necessary to deliver effective COGS management across multiple enterprise level services.

  • Financial modeling: Build robust, driver-based financial models to guide decision-making on business structure, strategy, pricing, revenue, and strategic direction
  • Financial analysis: Conduct financial analysis to provide health of business readouts and trends, and articulate those findings to finance and marketing leadership to support decision making
  • Rhythm of Business: Conduct regular COGS and key performance indicators reviews, develop quarterly forecast and target, and support business reviews
  • Business Health: Define and land key performance KPIs to assist in assessing IDNA business health and driving strategic goals across Microsoft leadership

Partnership:
  • Partner with our IDNA & Microsoft Security and Finance teams to help build the IDNA story focused on business drivers and actions that are required to ensure the business remains healthy, sustainable, and able to hit short- and long-term goals
  • Provides business insights and recommendations to peers and stakeholders to achieve revenue and profitability goals and drive shareholder return
  • Develops and manages strategies to proactively mitigate, or reactively address, potential adverse effects of macroeconomic and/or geopolitical risks. Maintains working knowledge of Microsoft financial systems, policies, and processes to evaluate potential impacts of changes, and drives improvements in efficiency and accuracy
  • Develops and applies understanding of Microsoft finance and business practices (e.g., cost reduction strategies, and key drivers to realize the strategies) across multiple service engineering teams
  • Contributes to new and unconventional methods and approaches to data collection, analysis, interpretation, and financial models
  • Provides advice and direction to teammates and peers on data management and operations
  • Leads efforts to leverage technology to increase productivity (e.g., report optimization) and to ensure accurate conclusions
  • Integrates varied data sources and assimilates the information into a comprehensive, clear narrative
  • Communicating results in a compelling and understandable message, articulates understanding and awareness of business partner situation
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of business management, financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field
  • Excellence in strategic thinking, leadership, communication, interpersonal skill, and ability to influence without authority
  • Solid analytics and critical thinking accompanied with strong Excel modeling skills
  • Able to synthesize large amounts of data and complex scenarios, and formulate and build business cases that drive insight and optimal economic decisions
  • Meticulous, thorough, and detail-oriented, yet able to see "the forest for the trees"
  • Clear communication style and able to adapt the altitude and surface area of her or his content to the audience (from director-level all the way to the SLT)
  • Self-motivated; able to handle a high degree of ambiguity and quickly identify what needs to be accomplished across multiple concurrent workstreams and stakeholders, yet able to push back where needed
  • Demonstrated experience, with clear evidence of significant impact and influence in prior roles
  • Passion for technology and curious to further learn the how and why behind the numbers
Base Pay Range
Business Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.
Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets (see below). The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role (except as noted below); the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate's primary work location. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role. The way we define roles includes two things: discipline (the type of work) and career stage (scope and complexity). The career stage has two parts - the first identifies whether the role is a manager (M), an individual contributor (IC), an admin-technician-retail (ATR) job, or an intern.
