Job Location:
This is a hybrid role, with an onsite requirement of 1 day a week in downtown D.C.
Clearance:
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis and have the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
Job Description:
In your position as a Senior Consultant, you will assist with business process transformation and risk mitigation activities that allows the Finance Division to produce timely, accurate, and reliable financial information to achieve an unqualified opinion on the Annual Financial Statements. In this position, you will also:

• Analyze and utilize the various financial systems to assess their impact on the comprehensive execution, monitoring, and reporting of financial statements.
• Ensure that systems and processes are compliant with accounting policies and operating procedures, with consideration of financial implications.
• Substantiate that balances obtained are according to process flows, standard operating procedures, and/or accounting policies.
• Provide an analysis of financial statements and supporting schedules for compliance with US GAAP monthly.
• Support the internal audits of financial business processes to ensure processes associated with transactions meet the terms and conditions of applicable policies/guidelines.
• Analysis of business processes, identification, and remediation of process gaps, enhancing controls over current processes, and assistance with the development of tools and related procedures to improve on-going financial functions.
• Provide assistance in the development and implementation of Corrective Action Plans (CAP) to remediate any inquiries, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, and non-conformances resulting from internal audit of modeling results.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or a related field.
• 4 years of Federal accounting experience.

Desired Skills:

• Understanding of accounting systems (Peoplesoft).
• Experience working with financial models used for mortgage loan estimates.
• Understanding of the appropriate policies and procedures, particularly loan accounting policies.

Your individual salary within this range will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to your education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
