We want you to think big and act bold through expressing your authentic best self! Anaplan is looking for a tenacious Senior Corporate Counsel, EMEA to join our Legal Team in United Kingdom (London or Maidenhead), Holland (Amsterdam) or France (Paris); remote candidates will be considered as well.
As the key member of the Legal team, this role will lead an experienced, dynamic and diverse commercial Legal team in the EMEA region (primarily, Northern region) on all matters concerning customer and partner contracts, including interfacing with executive management, other members of the Legal team and other functions throughout the company. Insight on your impact:- Direct advisor to EMEA Sales Area Vice President and Regional Vice President(s) in the respective EMEA Sales region(s).
- Support Anaplan's EMEA Sales, Partner and Customer Success organisations in structuring commercial transactions, and drafting and negotiating commercial agreements such as SaaS subscription agreements, order schedules, statements of work, confidentiality agreements.
- Advise business teams worldwide on legal compliance, including on data protection and privacy issues.
- Collaborate with Privacy Legal and Privacy Operations Teams and support privacy matters and initiatives across EMEA at Anaplan.
- Partner with finance, sales ops, tech ops, procurement other internal teams to ensure consistency in implementing company policies and processes.
- Advise senior management and business clients on aspects of law in various European countries on commercial transactions and related matters, including data protection and privacy.
- Assist in optimising contract templates, drafting global corporate policies and processes, ensuring regulatory requirements are adhered to and developing training materials on relevant topics such as the contracting process, data privacy and legal compliance in the sales and contracting processes.
- Provide training to the Sales teams to enable deal speed and scale.
- Other duties may include advising on general corporate, vendor relationships and risk management issues, as well as assisting with management of external counsel.
- JD or equivalent degree.
- Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorised to practice law in the country in which the position is located.
- 4+ years of attorney-level experience in a law firm or in-house legal department drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, with a specific focus on SaaS platforms.
- An ability to communicate clearly and effectively, collaborate across cross-functional teams, build consensus among stakeholders, and maintain strong relations at all levels across the organisation.
- Fluent written and verbal English language skills required, with additional competence in French/German/Spanish/Dutch language strongly desired.
- A strong functional understanding of GDPR and global privacy laws, regulations, privacy programs, industry guidelines and best practices.
- Sense of humour, excellent interpersonal skills, client-manage skills, business judgement and strategic thinking.
- An entrepreneurial, ownership mentality with an ability to work independently.
