Position Summary
Perform a variety of more complex or specialized legal activities in accordance with the established standards of the legal profession to protect the organization's reputation and business interests and help ensure it complies with all relevant laws and regulations. Provide legal advice within area of expertise to managers to ensure their activities, policies, business practices, and transactions comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
Essential Tasks
- Draft, negotiate, and review, client, partner and vendor agreements
- Advise all departments on legal norms, restrictions, and policies
- Supervise documentation processes
- Providing broad-based legal and consultative advice, problem-solving, counseling, and education to internal clients and business units on legal issues and regulatory rules
- Guiding and raising awareness of applicable legal issues and assisting the business units in understanding and satisfying applicable compliance and regulatory requirements
- Conducting legal and factual research related to client requests and initiatives
- Maintaining a high level of expertise with legal, regulatory and industry developments
- Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with business units and legal department senior management, clients and other internal functions such as Sales and Finance
Preferred Skills and Experience
- At least 8 years of experience drafting and negotiating software licenses (preferably SaaS agreements)
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Advanced analytical and practical problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated project management skills and deadline oriented
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining great attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and think strategically
- Ability to learn new technology utilized by the organization
- Working knowledge of GDPR and CCPA as they relate to client agreements
- Self-motivated team player with the ability to work well under pressure and adapt in a changing environment
The pay range for this position is $104,000 - $165,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, geographic location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus in addition to a full range of benefits. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed.
