The Senior Data Analyst role is critical within Podium with tremendous visibility across key stakeholders. This position will sit within Podium’s Analytics & Data Science Team but will be a dedicated resource for the Marketing Department. This role will be responsible for creating and maintaining analysis layer datasets, creating visualizations and reporting, and interpreting and presenting any findings to the marketing teams. This role will be highly collaborative and work cross-functionally across marketing, business strategy, and engineering to drive impact for marketing at Podium through data-driven reporting and insights.
What you get to do in this role:
- Own all marketing reporting, analytics, and insights
- Work with marketing and analytics engineering teams to quickly diagnose, prioritize, and scope data needed for marketing analytics
- Manage data strategy and analytics workflows to support marketing reporting development including centralization and processing of marketing cost data to support attribution and ROI reporting
- Lead the development and expansion of end-to-end marketing campaign reporting to deliver insights and optimizations to internal stakeholders
- Drive standardization and automation in marketing performance reporting across analysis and reporting deliverables
- Surface analytical insights by proactively investigating root causes of aberrant marketing data, and identify opportunities for optimization
- Ensure your numbers are air-tight by performing individual quality control, checking with relevant data owners, and cross-referencing findings against secondary sources
- Drive interpretation, socialization and adoption of operational marketing reports
- Quantify the impact of major marketing initiatives and communicate findings to key stakeholders
- Manage automation of marketing spend against budget
What you should have:
- 5+ years of experience in a data role
- Expert-level knowledge of SQL
- Experience Tableau, Domo, or other visualization software experience
- Experience with dbt, Snowflake, Git, R, Python is a plus
- Exceptional ability to communicate complex analyses throughout the marketing organization and senior leadership
- Ability to take raw data sets and combine in a way that allows for a range of business questions to be answered
- Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills including talent for conducting research, analyzing data, developing hypotheses, and synthesizing recommendations
- Ability to multi task against competing priorities and manage a large workload
- Ability to translate stakeholder requests into technical requirements to surface impactful end-state analyses, reports and insights
- Ability to utilize combined industry benchmarking information with a strong analytical capability to identify market trends and test alternative approaches to strategy that yield superior performance
- Experience with Marketing concepts such as B2B funnel reporting, marketing tactics (campaigns, marketing channels: SEM, Display, Email), customer journey, is a plus
- Experience with Marketing tools such as Marketo and Salesforce is a plus
- Degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Business, or hands on job experience with data science or analytics
