Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Senior Data Test Engineer. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the integrity and reliability of data (demographics, medical, financials, marketing, etc) flowing across systems, ensuring compliance with established standards and protocols. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Azure, SQL, and data quality frameworks, coupled with leadership skills to drive a culture of accountability and excellence within the data engineering domain.

What You'll Be Working On:

  • Data Quality Strategy and Framework:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive data quality strategy tailored to the unique challenges of health data management.
  • Establish and enforce data quality policies, standards, and frameworks to ensure consistent and accurate data across systems.
  • Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor data quality metrics and trends.
  • Provide actionable insights and regular updates to leadership on the status of data quality initiatives.

  • Data Quality Assurance:
  • Conduct detailed data profiling, validation, and cleansing activities to identify and address inconsistencies.
  • Drive the development and execution of test scenarios aimed at to maintaining data quality
  • Implement robust monitoring and alerting mechanisms to ensure timely identification and resolution of data quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational data governance standards and healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain documentation and audit trails for all data quality activities.

  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Partner with data engineering, IT, business intelligence, software engineering and strategy teams to understand data flow requirements and ensure seamless integration and processing.
  • Design and conduct quality reviews of key enhancements and builds done by team members to ensure quality deliverables to end users
  • Act as a champion for data quality, advocating for its importance and driving initiatives across departments.

  • Technology and Tools:
  • Leverage Azure data services and SQL to design, build, and maintain scalable solutions for data quality management.
  • Evaluate and implement cutting-edge tools and technologies to enhance data quality processes and automation.

Physical and Travel Requirements:

  • This is a remote position with less than 10% travel requirements. Occasional planned travel may be required as part of the role.

  • Strong technical expertise in Azure data services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Databricks), SQL and python.
  • Proficient in data quality tools, QA automation, SQL, and other relevant technologies. Familiarity with data profiling and cleansing tools is an asset
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align data quality initiatives with broader business objectives
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex data quality issues
  • Works well and is effective in a dynamic, face-paced environment, adaptable to shifting priorities
  • Working knowledge of the full lifecycle of software engineering and CI/CD are a plus

Certifications/Licenses, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information system, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in data quality roles required with hands-on experience in cloud, warehouse, data lake, and storage resources
