Senior Developer - Data Platform

This is a remote contract (6-months) position for those based in Brazil.

Nearform, a global tech consultancy that specializes in building & designing digital products for enterprises, is actively hiring for a Senior Developer. You’ll develop a platform for a top Fintech project while collaborating with talented engineers, providing expert guidance, and shaping the future of financial technology with client teams. When you're not working on client-client projects, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to our renowned open-source software, sharing your expertise with the wider tech community.

As a Senior Developer, you will be responsible for:

• Designing and building a data platform for a top Fintech project.
• Defining and implementing data pipelines using Python and Java.
• Writing code and scripts to consume various vendor APIs.
• Designing and managing data storage solutions across AWS Cloud, AWS RDS, and Mongo Atlas.
• Transforming and moving data across different platforms using appropriate tools and technologies.
• Ensuring data quality, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Collaborating closely with client teams to understand their needs and deliver successful solutions.
• Staying current with best practices and trends in data architecture for financial services.
• Demonstrating strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Being a self-starter with the ability to take initiative and ownership of complex tasks.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of experience developing software applications with Python and Java.
• Expert understanding of data architecture and design principles.
• Proven experience building and managing data pipelines with Python and Java.
• Experience with AWS cloud services, including S3, RDS, and API Gateway.
• Strong knowledge of NoSQL databases like Mongo Atlas.
• Experience with consuming and processing data from various APIs.
• Familiarity with real-time and historical data analysis techniques for financial data.
• Solid understanding of Fintech jargon and regulations.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience with open-source software contribution.
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
