Our team in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Digital Marketing Strategist (Specialist) to join our world class Marketing team onsite.

The Digital Marketing department is responsible for the identification, planning and execution of digital communication projects that create value for Abbott's Cardiovascular CRM Division and our external customers. Digital Marketing is furthermore responsible for evolving the digital marketing strategy by continuously benchmarking the digital communication activities within the medical device industry and healthcare environment and by incorporating novel and disruptive technologies into our digital communication portfolio.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Senior Digital Marketing Strategist plays a key role in working with a cross-functional marketing and business Cardiac Rhythm Management teams to turn their business strategies into executable digital strategies. You will be responsible for upfront strategic planning including content strategy, execution direction and follow-thru to demonstrate meaningful and tangible results. The focus will be on owned, shared, and paid channels and balancing message consistency and process efficiency across our online channels with business goals and priorities.

In additional, Senior Digital Marketing Strategist will be instrumental in putting in place new platforms/channels that can continue to connect our digital ecosystem to provide an optimized and relevant customer experience.

This position requires a balance between decisive and prudent creative decision-making, disciplined program management and a service-oriented mentality.

  • Manages relationships with internal business partners. This role is the face of the Digital team to our partners and primary initial contact for many digital efforts.
  • Creates digital strategies based on overarching business and marketing strategies.
  • Collaborates with analytics and business partners to translate business goals into digital KPIs.
  • Aligns and, in some instances, leads an overarching content strategy and governance model.
  • Works with the digital team and partners to develop and execute specific content and tactics.
  • Plans for the creation, approval, delivery and governance of content across earned, owned, paid and social media for a variety of digital tactics, including emails, landing pages, websites, social networks, mobile, paid search, etc.
  • Creates and maintains editorial calendars, style guides, taxonomies, metadata frameworks and content migration plans.
  • Maintains a deep understanding of customer journeys and user needs to apply content and UX strategy according to business goals and objectives.
  • Manages the progress of projects coordinating activities among stakeholders and tracking completion of tasks to full execution of each project.
  • Use analytics, insights and best practices to optimize user experience, digital strategies, content and tactics across all digital channels including SEO and SEM.
  • Collaborates with analytics and business partners to translate business goals into digital KPIs.
  • Adheres to Digital Marketing policies including Web Content Review and Approval, Removal, and Governance policies.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Education and Experience You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, or Digital Marketing.
  • 10+ years of digital experience, especially in marketing.
  • Experience creating and executing digital strategies/content dev for web, paid, social, and email
  • Experience with marketing automation preferred.
  • Experience working with content management systems (Adobe Experience Manager preferred) and experience working with technical team members (i.e. business analysts, IT and developers) to execute web projects.
  • Experience executing analytics projects or working in close collaboration with an analytics team (knowledge of Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics preferred).
  • Possess thorough understanding of the digital space as it relates to: principles of digital customer experience/UX design, management of digital assets including taxonomy, meta data; social media; paid search and SEO best practices.
  • Requires deep practical knowledge of these tools, concepts and methodologies within a regulated industry, preferably Medical Device or related healthcare sector.
  • Global experience preferred
  • Curious to explore new technologies and test for success.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and educate others
  • Must be able to understand key business drivers and to develop appropriate strategies to address specific business needs.
  • Strong proofing and editing skills within the digitally focused environment including the ability to create shareable content.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Flawless attention to detail; highly organized.
  • High comfort level leading brainstorms and ideation and filling up whiteboards. Combination of right and left-brain thinking that challenges the status quo.
  • Experience with agile methodologies a plus.
