Senior Director, International Finance

About the Role
The Senior Director, International Finance leads the international accounting function. In this role, you will be responsible for all international accounting and financial policies. This role will provide insights into our international operations and provide (i) oversight of international office financials, (ii) managing international finance teams including their monthly close procedures, (iii) partnering to develop long-term infrastructure and policies and (iv) managing international tax issues such as VAT. The Senior Director, International Finance will also contribute to developing and implementing global accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. You will serve as a people manager and are responsible for guiding, developing, and leading the international teams.

What You’ll Do

• Manage the international accounting teams including their monthly accounting processes, accounting policies, etc.
• Establish, monitor, and enforce internal accounting policies, procedures, and controls for international offices.
• Prepare and coordinate financial reports income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements as needed.
• Manage international tax issues such as investigating VAT or similar issues as the need arises.
• Work closely with the HR team to further compensation practices for our international teams.
• Develop additional controls and policies for international offices.
• Support special projects related to the global organization.
• Manage, mentor, and provide direction to staff including hiring, training, and performance management. 

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of accounting experience with strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Strategic thinker that knows when to dig into an issue and when to let it go.
• Detail-oriented with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Previous experience building and managing effective teams.
• Strong analytical skills - experience outside of traditional GL accounting would be great.
• Experience with international entities and VAT.
• Varied experience including large and start-up environments.
• Patience and a strong can-do attitude.
