Senior Director of Compliance
Job Description
The Role
The Senior Director of Compliance is an integral part of the Legal team reporting directly to the Vice President of Legal, performing a variety of tasks. Specifically, the Director of Compliance will:
- Take a leadership role in Fusion's compliance initiatives (e.g., Fusion's Privacy program, etc.) and build a privacy and compliance posture that services our highly regulated customer markets.
- Collaborate with fellow leaders in Cybersecurity, IT Operations, Risk & Resilience, Sales, Services, Product, and R&D on compliance strategy, tactics, and operations.
- Contribute to new corporate and product initiatives, ensuring privacy and compliance are incorporated into the beginning of ideation and design of any initiatives.
- Engage in customer-facing contract negotiations including but not limited to data processing addendums, master subscription agreements, security addendums.
- Act as a trusted advisor to legal, sales, and services during the sales cycle by explaining the security and architecture to customer and prospect security teams.
- Support any M&A activity with a lens on privacy and compliance debt for any potential acquisitions
- Participate in Legal Department initiatives as a trusted leader in privacy and compliance.
- Be flexible and proactive in managing new or unexpected situations that may arise in a dynamic, innovative, growing enterprise SaaS company.
Requirements
- 10+ years of compliance and security experience required.
- 10+ years of experience in customer-facing contract negotiation required.
- SaaS or software licensing experience required.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment required.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects, meet deadlines and proactively communicate status updates required.
- Familiarity with the architecture of cloud computing architectures (IaaS, PaaS). Salesforce.com and Azure platforms are highly desired.
- Regulatory compliance (e.g., US or EU privacy or banking regulations, etc.) experience highly preferred.
- Corporate IT security (e.g., SOC 2, ISO, etc.) experience preferred.
- Expert internal corporate governance (e.g., HR support, ESG, trademarks, etc.) experience required.
