Senior Director, Organic Marketing
Job Description
Who is Credible?
We are a marketplace where users can compare personalized, prequalified rates and quotes from multiple lenders and carriers, for student loans, mortgages, personal loans, and insurance.Â
Weâre challenging the status quo by giving power to the consumer. We believe in a world where âethicalâ, âlendingâ, and âinsuranceâ can coexist, so we set out to build innovative platforms that actually work for customers. Our mission is to help people find the best loan or insurance policy possible.Â
We believe researching and buying loans or insurance shouldnât be confusing or complex, so weâve focused on simplicity. Weâve created the only unbiased loan and insurance buying process out there, which makes finding options straightforward and clear.Â
Credible is seeking an analytical senior leader to head our Organic Marketing team. In this role, you will scale Credibleâs Organic Marketing channel and further establish Credible as a top SEO authority in the consumer finance space across owned (Credible.com) and âpoweredâ properties.
The Senior Director of Organic Marketing is a highly visible role within Credible and across Credibleâs blue-chip media publishing partners. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of the levers it takes to generate SEO success; be able to clearly articulate those requirements into conversations with cross-functional teams such as Business Development, Partner Marketing, Product, and Engineering; and work with our heads of Content and SEO to build best-in-class SEO strategies. You will directly manage two incredible team members - our Head of SEO and our Editorial Director - and work with them to scale their teams. Â
This is an excellent position for a hungry and curious leader who is disciplined and passionate about pushing through their vision.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with your team leads to build and execute SEO and Content strategies, both on owned and âpoweredâ properties.Â
- Work closely with our SVP of Partnerships and Head of Business Development to set a strategy for how we can own the front page of Google via key strategic partners.
- Own budgeting and managing to a net margin target; define goals for keyword ranking position, traffic, and revenue and the bottoms-up plan that will achieve those goals.
- Lead the vision and execution for scaling the output and productivity of the SEO and content team
- Conduct addressable-market and revenue impact sizing.
- Prioritize initiatives via data-driven business cases, incorporating expected lift, required resources, and timelines.
- Set up frameworks for monitoring both leading indicators and revenue metrics and establish a system to use the former to predict the latter.
- Instill data-driven decision-making at every opportunity - including quantifying which types of content are performing best - and use this to drive what topics we focus our efforts on.
- Deeply understand not just the content ranking/traffic, the content engagement, and the subsequent revenue outcome, but also what is happening between when a user lands on site and an interaction takes place with the core product.
- Be up-to-date with the latest technologies and capabilities for both SEO and Content, including technical SEO and content, site optimization, web analytics, domain management, and content management systems. HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Strapi, and Wordpress experience are a plus.
- Lead an exceptionally strong team.
- Create a supportive, empathetic, and passionate culture.
Education and Experience:
We understand not everyone will meet all of these requirements. If you meet most of the criteria below and youâre excited about the opportunity, weâd love to hear from you.
- 10+ years of total experience including 8+ in the SEO space
- Track record of building and executing large-scale SEO strategies, and looked upon favorably if this has been done on multiple platforms
- Experience managing Content/Editorial resources
