Netlify is seeking a self-driven, strategic Director, Digital Marketing, to join our Marketing team. You will have a critical role in helping us achieve our mission of reaching and engaging many more millions of developers, and building a better web. This is an opportunity to join a fast growing startup and build our Digital Marketing function from the ground up. You'll work closely with Product Marketing, Product, Growth, Sales, and the Data team to create cross Digital Marketing campaigns, delighting our users as they become successful on the Netlify platform. You will be a core member of our Marketing Team, and will report directly to the SVP, Marketing.
About the PositionNetlify is looking for an experienced Sr. Director of Product & Partner Marketing to drive our strategy for introducing new products to market, developing lifecycle campaigns that drive adoption of Netlify’s web development platform, and expanding and amplifying our Agency and Tech Partner programs. This position will manage a team of Product & Partner Marketers and work closely with Product, Growth, Partner, and Sales teams. Under your leadership, this team will create clear and compelling product positioning that establishes Netlify as the leading innovator of modern web development and motivates development teams to use the platform. It will also create programs that engage our partners and introduce co-Marketing programs that drive adoption of Netlify. Your team will heavily influence go-to-market strategy and create content that makes our marketing and sales campaigns wildly successful.
Our Ideal Candidate- You have a track record of leading and growing a team of Product and Partner Marketers
- You are a detail-oriented manager that has extensive experience defining markets, messaging, positioning, and identifying ideal customer profiles for the products you’ve worked on
- You're a natural storyteller and an excellent communicator who easily explains complex technical concepts with examples, analogies, and stories.
- You have built the blueprints for product launches, content generation, go-to-market strategies, and have designed and delivered feedback loops to Product and Engineering that influence roadmaps
- You work cross functionally and partner with other teams to make Product and Partner Marketing a key player in the success of the overall business
- You have a deep understanding of how a partner ecosystem can substantially contribute to the growth of a platform and the acceleration of customer adoption
- Works with their team to develop & maintain a deep understanding of partner business strategies and objectives. Crafts co-marketing strategies and programs that benefit both Netlify and partners, from messaging to program delivery
- Through your team, grow partner sales through integrated partner co-marketing programs, across our Agency and Tech partner ecosystems
- You are well versed in web development technology, (java script frameworks, api’s, CI/CD, CDN’s, etc) and can quickly become a subject matter expert and champion for the Netlify platform
- You believe data is a cornerstone of a Product and Partner Marketing organization, have a history of defining success criteria, and of presenting results regularly to company executives
- Lead and manage our team of Product and Partner Marketers
- Lead market analysis and competitive benchmarking to inform strategy and keep the company up-to-date on industry trends and competition.
- Partner closely and work effectively across multiple functions including Business Development, Partner, Product and Engineerings teams, as well as Communications and Events to surface insights, leverage research, and build a cohesive and comprehensive marketing strategy.
- Drive the strategy (including messaging and positioning) and operational programs that create excitement, interest, and understanding of Netlify’s products.
- Work closely with the Partner team to jointly drive acquisition of new agency partners, and work to retain current partners
- Define priorities, investment model, and success metrics for our marketing efforts with agency partners
- Develop annual joint client targets, strategies, objectives, and measures of success
- Develop joint client strategies including joint pitches, programs, and offerings
- Develop programs for new agency acquisition, enablement, target account and target segment identification
- 10+ years of experience with Product Marketing
- Experience with determining product-market fit and delivering products to market
- Experience with internal product messaging, external product positioning, customer and market research, insights generation, salient points of proof and customer success stories
- Experience working closely with agencies as partners, building to and through marketing plans, executing marketing programs and campaigns that drive new joint client deals
- Proven ability to influence and guide a partner’s leadership team to align on objectives and deliver against joint marketing priorities and plans
- Experience shaping joint messaging with partners and building content assets (e-books, emails, social media, etc)
- Demonstrated experience in measuring and improving the ROI of marketing investments through an indirect business model leveraging partners
- A startup mentality with a bias to action and the ability to flex in a fast-paced environment
- Superb organization and project management skills and the capacity to manage multiple complex projects at once
- Proven leadership capability and effectiveness working collaboratively and cross functionally
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to craft actionable insights from complex data
- Ability to lead and communicate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering and other departments
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company's success
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
