As a rapidly growing company, we are seeking a highly experienced and strategic-minded Senior Director to lead our Strategic Planning team and drive success for our clients.
Job Overview: The Senior Director, Strategic Planning will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our organization's strategies and ensuring exceptional results are delivered to our clients. You will oversee a team of Strategic Planning Directors, Leads, and Planners, and be responsible for running an efficient and cohesive team. Your role will be accountable for setting the bar for best-in-class comprehensive communications strategies with a focus on media's role in solving client business problems.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Lead the architecting of solutions to clients' needs, pains, and gains within the Strategy, Planning & Research function. Develop channel-agnostic strategic plans that encompass programmatic, paid search, paid social, and direct IO partnerships.
Client Relationships: Establish close working relationships with high-profile clients and position yourself as an expert in their business and strategic approach. Act as a consultant to ensure clients receive unbiased recommendations that best achieve their business goals.
Innovative Approaches: Encourage your team to adopt innovative and channel-agnostic approaches to client responses. Reinforce the use of Goodway's Strategic Planning Framework and encourage the exploration of new vendors and solutions.
Industry Knowledge: Stay current with industry trends and emerging opportunities, and apply this knowledge to client problem-solving. Maintain relationships with vendors in collaboration with the Investment and Activation teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster a culture of collaboration with BD, CX, MS & DS&A teams to develop strategic and innovative media strategies that address key client business challenges. Regularly collaborate with cross-functional leadership to address workflow, culture, or communication challenges.
Org Development: Lead the implementation of strategic org development projects that align with the company's long-term goals. Partner with CX, Finance, and Legal teams on team scoping, time-tracking, staffing, and structure.
Leadership: Act as a leader in behavior, supporting the company's growth initiatives. Manage and mentor your team, providing guidance, support, and accountability. Train, motivate, and evaluate team members, ensuring they follow best practices.
Client Strategy: Play a critical role in new business pitches, strategic planning, QBRs, and Year In Review presentations for existing clients. Collaborate with DS&A to ensure the use of best-in-class measurement strategies.
Requirements:
Experience: At least 10 years of experience leading strategy for high-profile brands at large media agencies.
Media Channels: Deep understanding of all media channels, including programmatic, paid search, paid social, and direct IO partnerships.
Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to architect solutions to address client needs, pains, and gains, developing channel-agnostic strategic plans.
Client Relations: Demonstrated expertise in managing and maintaining close relationships with VP & C-level clients.
Collaboration: Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and foster a culture of teamwork.
Leadership Skills: Experience leading and mentoring teams, setting standards, and driving performance.
Innovative Mindset: A passion for driving innovation and test-and-learn approaches to problem-solving.
