About The Team
The Time Off team operates within one of Paylocity's most crucial domains, which encompasses various systems and technologies. Our objective is to enhance the Time Off process for both employees and supervisors by offering a seamless experience across our product suite. This involves ensuring accurate accrual of Time Off balances and simplifying the complexity of our system.
The technical scope of Time Off extends across a variety of areas. Here are a few examples:

• An API-first strategy to deliver integrations and experiences outside of the Time Off Domain
• Mid and Backend Optimizations utilizing C# and SQL to improve the performance of Accruals and Check Stub Balance Calculations
• React and TypeScript components delivered via CDN and consumed by multiple client applications
• Main languages and frameworks are C#, .NET Core, MVC, Webforms, SQL, React, and Typescript

What You Will Do

• Understand customer needs and business goals
• Implement features to realize these goals
• Promote the adoption of best practices and strike a healthy balance between technical debt and project delivery
• Engage with your team in design discussions
• Ensure code flexibility, reusability, scalability, and high quality through constructive feedback during code reviews
• Recognize and account for technical interdependencies
• Work within the scope of a team and participate in cross-team collaboration
• Find innovative ways to increase the quality and velocity of your work
• Demonstrate software quality through unit and integration test automation
• Enrich team dynamics by sharing technical knowledge and interests
• Foster relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders at various organizational levels
• Mitigate risks, prioritize issues, and contribute to the resolution of issues that may affect production quality

What You Will Bring

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in commercial software development
• Proven expertise with .NET (6+), MSSQL, and proficiency with Git
• A firm grasp of object-oriented analysis and design, multithreading, and performance optimizations in mid and backend tiers utilizing C# and MSSQL
• Solid knowledge of relational databases including DB programmability
• Experience with micro-service architecture and event-driven architecture
• Experience with unit testing and integration test automation
• Solid command of REST API standards and concepts
• Ability to develop and unit test Front-End technologies utilizing React, TypeScript, and Jest

What Is a Plus

• Experience with observability and large-scale zero-downtime deployment
• Prior experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services)
• Experience with Time systems (Time Off or Time and Labor)

What Success Looks Like
As a part of our Time Off team, your responsibilities will involve crafting, refining, and maintaining the product while collaborating closely with Product Owners, Quality Assurance Engineers, and Business Stakeholders. Within our Agile environment, Software Engineers actively participate in the entire software development life cycle, encompassing technical design, hands-on coding, unit testing, performance optimization, maintenance, test automation, deployments, and upgrades.

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $84,487- $182,372/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
