This is a core group in Reddit ads. The group’s mission is to enable automated ads optimizations for advertisers to optimize their digital advertising experience with Reddit Ads, with bidding, creative selection, ads planning and opportunity products. We use distributed systems, data based algorithms, ML technologies to build and power our products. The group consists of multiple teams with backend engineers, machine learning engineers, to collaborate with data scientists, product managers and sales team to build product and business solutions for advertisers, sales and marketing teams.  Some key product roadmaps that the team owns:

• ML and/or algorithm based auto bidding strategies
• ML and/or algorithm based creative optimizations 
• Budget pacing and/or ads auction optimizations
• Auction and/or ads inventory forecasting services
• Bid recommendations and smart campaign opportunities
• Insight and BI tools to better optimize campaign performance and ROAS.

As the group eng leader, you will serve as the technical thought leader to research, formulate and execute on our mission to automate and optimize our advertiser buying/delivery experience with data and ML driven solutions. Over the course of building powerful and data driven products such as auto bidding, creative optimization, auction forecasting, you and your teams will deliver direct impact to our ads business growth in the long term. You will enable your teams to push our products to the next level of quality and innovations with tremendous business success. Through this, You will also be accountable for building, growing, and mentoring one or more world-class teams of engineers to help Reddit reach its goal of bringing community and belonging to everyone.

Your Responsibilities:

• Build, grow and coach one or more eng teams by hiring top engineer talents.
• Develop, drive, and execute the long term vision and technical strategy to support Ads Optimization area.
• Advocate eng culture to develop high quality software.
• Lead teams to drive strong execution of multiple roadmaps and charters.
• Communicate, Collaborate and align with PM, DS and Sales partners.
• Be a strong mentor for your team’s career growth, including managing and growing junior eng managers and strong tech leaders.
• Key driver to formulate and promote the team's technical strategy and vision. 

Who You Might Be:

• 2+ years of experience managing one or more engineering teams.
• Passion for developing scalable, well-designed software that people love.
• Strong communicator who can understand and effectively describe complex technical problems and solutions to key stakeholders.
• Experience with data analysis, algorithm optimization and end-to-end ML techniques.
• Experience with Ads background or ML applications is a big plus

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including, skills, depth of work experience and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.

The base pay range for this position is: $198,200 - $334,200.
