This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager, Growth based in the United States.

This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced engineering manager passionate about building high-performing teams and driving business growth through technology. You will lead a cross-functional engineering team focused on user acquisition, engagement, retention, and revenue optimization by delivering scalable, data-driven solutions. Working at the intersection of engineering, product, marketing, and analytics, you will shape technical strategy while fostering a culture of experimentation, innovation, and operational excellence. The role combines people leadership with hands-on technical oversight, ensuring high-quality software delivery and continuous improvement. You'll mentor talented engineers, champion engineering best practices, and help define the roadmap for growth-focused initiatives. Accountabilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 5–8 full-stack engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, experimentation, and technical excellence.
  • Partner with product managers, designers, engineers, and business stakeholders to define priorities, scope projects, and deliver impactful growth initiatives.
  • Develop and execute technical strategies and roadmaps that support user acquisition, activation, retention, subscription growth, and revenue optimization.
  • Establish engineering best practices across code quality, automated testing, maintainability, scalability, resiliency, and developer experience.
  • Define and monitor technical and business performance metrics, using data to guide decisions, identify opportunities, and proactively manage risks.
  • Build realistic project plans using agile methodologies, coordinate cross-functional dependencies, and ensure predictable, high-quality delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvements in engineering processes, development efficiency, and product quality while encouraging innovation and experimentation.
  • Recruit, coach, and retain top engineering talent through effective hiring, performance management, and career development initiatives.
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
    • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years leading engineering teams, preferably in growth, consumer-facing, or product-focused environments.
    • Strong technical expertise with modern web technologies, including React, Next.js, AWS, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and scalable cloud architectures.
    • Experience leading agile software development teams using Scrum, Kanban, or similar methodologies.
    • Proven background building or optimizing headless e-commerce platforms using Shopify and headless CMS technologies.
    • Experience managing subscription-based products, including pricing experimentation, payment flows, retention strategies, churn reduction, and lifecycle optimization.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
    • Demonstrated success in coaching, mentoring, hiring, and developing high-performing engineering teams.
    • Experience with AI-powered personalization, machine learning, mobile applications, or open-source contributions is considered a plus.
