Overview
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to join the Strategic Finance team. This is a rare opportunity to join a growing team and drive analyses and forecasts for some of our most exciting initiatives. In this role, you will provide financial partnership for business priorities that will have a critical impact on Instacart’s near and long-term success. As a Senior Finance Analyst, you have both strong attention to detail and the ability to consider the big picture to drive strategic decisions and investment recommendations. You are highly analytical and a clear, confident communicator.
About the Team
The Instacart Strategic Finance Team is dedicated to supporting our business partners to make sound financial and strategic decisions that leads to profitable growth and continued investment in our 4 sided marketplace. This team in particular focuses on our fulfillment, order quality, and payment areas of business.
About the Job
- Partner cross-functionally to develop financial models that drive forecasting, strategic decision making, and initiative prioritization for Instacart Marketplace
- Conduct ad hoc financial modeling and analysis, such as building KPI-based models, using SQL to self-serve data for analyses, and building out dashboards that translate operational trends into financial impact
- Own short and long range P&L planning for line items related to Order Quality and Payments
- Generate monthly and quarterly performance and forecast reviews, support board meeting and investor relations presentations, and own financial review presentations for leadership teams

About You
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, Math, Economics, Finance, Business or other related field
- 4-6 years work experience in a relevant field with demonstrated financial acumen and a track record of leveraging data for business impact
- Highly proficient in advanced Excel modeling with strong attention to detail
- Intermediate SQL and data visualization knowledge is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced SQL and data visualization knowledge is strongly preferred
- Work experience in consulting, investment banking, or Strategic Finance at a high-growth technology company preferred
- Work experience with gig economies and/or payments is a plus but not required
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with internal stakeholders
- A self-starter with a positive attitude and ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
- Finding humor in food puns is a plus!
