Senior Front End Engineer

The Opportunity:

People Data Labs is hiring an Senior Frontend Engineer for our Web and Customer applications team. You’ll be responsible for working with the engineers on the team along with product and design counterparts to drive the customer experience of peopledatalabs.com and the applications our customers use to purchase data packages and services and manage their accounts. As PDL primarily sells access to APIs and key data, our website is our most critical surface to connect and drive customer engagement.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Driving the development of our 3 external web properties (www.peopledatalabs.com, dashboard.peopledatalabs.com and blog.peopledatalabs.com) as well as the customer and internal facing tools
• Drive, build and maintain our frontend components, design, and architecture
• Ensure and develop solid code quality and development practices and standards within the team
• Responsible for the quality and reliability of front end surfaces presented to users
• Drive page-load and interaction performance
• Proactively work with Product and Design to ensure sign off on implementations
• Partner with our marketing and growth teams to improve our website to drive new and prospective customers into our funnel and enable them to make updates and revisions to the website quickly to optimize engagement and conversion
• Partner with customer success team to provide existing customers the tools they need to manage their accounts as well as provide internal insights into revenue and engagement

Skills & Experience: 

• 3+ years experience as a software developer, software engineer or similar
• React.js with Typescript
• Experience with Next.js (or other React.js front end frameworks)
• High attention to detail coupled with a strong understanding of CSS
• Experience refining designs with UI/UX designers and while meaningfully contributing to the design and asserting a customer-centric perspective
• Experience with API design
• Experience with A/B testing frameworks (e.g. LaunchDarkly or similar)
• Experience with frontend testing frameworks and practices
• Experience with REST API backends (e.g. Node.js, Django, fastAPI, Flask or similar (we are a python shop primarily))
• Experience working with product and design partners to develop roadmaps and execute and deliver
