Senior Full Stack Engineer

As a Sr. Full Stack Engineer at Bonterra, you will play a key part on the engineering team that develops and maintains functionality for our giving days and year-round giving applications. You will lead development efforts for large projects, you will advocate for new technologies that can improve the product, and you will help us to continue to build a best-in-class product.
This position is fully remote with in-person meetings as necessary.
Tools/Frameworks you'll work with:• Tools: Heroku, GitHub, Pivotal Tracker, JIRA, CircleCI, BrowserStack• Frameworks/Languages: Ruby on Rails, Vue, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, SQL (PostgreSQL)
Responsibilities:• Work with the Director of Engineering to lead large engineering projects in entirety to meet giving day or project deadlines• In collaboration with team leads, breakdown user requirements for large projects into workable stories with attention to creating reusable configurations that other clients could potentially leverage.• Provide input and estimates for new work during our weekly estimation process• Provide peer code reviews to ensure code conforms to our standards and to provide feedback• Mentor other members of the engineering team and provide guidance before they begin working on new functionality• Help manage deploy process as a member of the rotating "release boss" team• Assist in engineering roadmap planning for core and secondary applications and improving team processes
What we're looking for:• Proactive problem solver; identifies opportunities to improve team processes and the product, and takes the initiative to form plans for implementing those improvements either within the immediate team or cross other teams within Bonterra.• Openness to learning new things• Positive, supportive, and welcoming attitude for all members of the team• 2+ years experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript• 2+ years experience with Ruby on Rails• 3+ years experience with GitHub, Heroku, Amazon S3/EC2, Circle CI, Redis, Sidekiq, DNS management, NewRelic, REST web services, RSpec• Familiar with web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 and Section 508) and best practices• 2+ years experience with Agile Development Process• Experience with mobile responsive design• Able to work independently with little supervision• Strong written oral and verbal communication skills
