Senior GL Accountant

This mission has become urgent. Ukraine is engaged in a war for survival with Russia. China regularly flies nuclear-capable bombers into Taiwan and Japan’s airspace. The US and our allies are fighting a war of deterrence with woefully outdated technology. We build software to support these missions, including providing battlefield information to allies, identifying malign activity, and helping the US deter and deescalate conflict.  

We are a profitable growth startup with some of the best defense investors in the world, including General Catalyst, DFJ Growth, Point72, and enterprise tech investors Costanoa and Felicis. 

We are looking for an experienced senior GL accountant who will be joining as our second accounting hire. This role is perfect for someone who finds it exciting to wear many hats with the opportunity to make a large impact at a growing, scaling company. This person wants to build out and streamline sustainable processes as the company continues to grow. Reporting to the Controller, this role will need to be able to handle a multitude of accounting responsibilities ranging from financial reporting, GL, AP, to AR. In the long term, this person will help build out the team. 

What You'll Do

• Aid in the monitoring, discovery and collection of data from various sources
• Book monthly journal entries
• Prepare financial reconciliations and research discrepancies
• Produce financial package and variance analysis for management
• Sync transactions from our various expense systems
• Generating invoices and applying cash from bank accounts
• Research technical accounting guidance
• Run ad-hoc reports for cross-functional teams

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• 5+ years of relevant general ledger experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
• Advanced knowledge of accounting systems (Netsuite, Excel, Salesforce)
• Go-getter attitude
• Ability to multi-task

Nice to haves

• CPA
• Public Accounting experience
• Tech or manufacturing experience
