Senior Knowledge and Documentation Strategist
Job Description
As the Senior Knowledge and Documentation Strategist, you play a meaningful role in driving the efficiency and effectiveness of Expel's knowledge creation and content delivery. Your primary responsibility is to establish robust processes and procedures that empower our customer-facing teams, including Engagement Management, Technical Support Engineers (TSEs), Security Solutions Engineers (SSEs), and the Customer Success (CS) organization, to build valuable and impactful content.
In addition to enabling content creation, you also focus on implementing means of content validation to ensure accuracy and reliability. By collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you develop comprehensive guidelines and frameworks for crafting, reviewing, and approving content. Your expertise is essential in aligning our documentation and knowledge resources with the needs of our customers, making them useful, usable, re-usable, findable, localized, and aligned with industry best practices.
Using data-driven insights and your eye for process, you continuously assess and optimize our content strategy to improve the overall customer experience. By fostering a collaborative culture and encouraging knowledge sharing, you enable our teams to contribute to the success of the business.

- Develop positive relationships all customer facing teams
- Find and implement ways to increase efficiency in our KB
- 5+ years of experience in content strategy, UX writing, or technical writing.
- Experience leading a content strategy project for an enterprise product.
- Experience working in one or more of the major knowledge base or Wiki products or any xml-based content authoring tool.
- Exposure in localization projects and internationalization.
The base salary range for this role is between $98,000 USD and $142,100 USD + bonus eligibility and equity.
We believe in paying transparently and equitably. Your salary will ultimately be based on factors such as your experience, skills, team equity, and market data. You’ll also be eligible for unlimited PTO (which we model and encourage), work location flexibility, up to 24 weeks of parental leave, and really excellent health benefits.
Our headquarters is in Herndon, Virginia. However, we realize that while there is a benefit to in-person interaction, good people don’t all live in Northern Virginia. Remote work is an option for this role within the EST and CST time zones.
