Senior Manager, GL Accounting

We are seeking a Senior Manager, GL Accounting to join our growing Accounting team, reporting to the Controller -  Financial Accounting.  This position will play an active role in the financial close process and own the review of month-end journal entries and reconciliations in key Asset and OPEX areas. The position requires a well-rounded individual who has demonstrated the ability to deliver results in a high-growth, dynamic, and fast-paced environment.

ABOUT THE JOB

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and  internal policies
• Oversee the execution of non-routine transactions, including but not limited to: application of accounting guidance, preparation of workpapers and journal entries, and walkthroughs with relevant stakeholders
• Lead the preparation of monthly financial reporting for management and U.S. GAAP presentation, including tie-outs to underlying detail and analysis of activity for assigned areas of responsibility
• Oversee the accounting and disclosures for leases,  internally developed software, and internal use software, working cross-functionally with teams in Product, Engineering, and Financial Systems, among others
• Oversee other areas of G/L accounting as identified by management, gather financial data to support footnote disclosures and ensure SOX compliance in areas of responsibility
• Provide day to day management, oversight, in addition to longer-term development planning of a team of accountants
• Maintain and improve internal controls which relate to assigned areas; key stakeholder in the annual audit process including both the readiness and execution
• Work closely with partners in the business, finance and IT, and strive to improve processes through automation and enhance controls
• Assist special projects as needed

ABOUT YOU

• Combination of public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and industry experience
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related fields with 8+ years of relevant experience in Accounting or Finance
• CPA and public accounting experience is a plus
• Broad knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Any/all of the following experience considered a plus: 
• internal use software, 
• internally developed software
• leases
• Cost, inventory, and fixed asset accounting
• IFRS 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience in a high growth, fast­-paced start­up as well as a public company environment
• Eager to take on new tasks and projects with little supervision
• Strong writing, oral communication, analytical capabilities, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, take ownership of work product and improve processes
• Experience with Oracle Cloud, FloQast, and Workvia are a plus
