Opportunity 

Twin Health is seeking a Senior Manager, Billing Operations who is responsible for helping us build out our billing team and our end-to-end billing processes to ensure accurate and timely eligibility, insurance claims submissions, appeals, and client billing. A successful candidate will have the ability to build professional collaborative relationships with cross functional leaders as well as identify, scope, and execute on strategic projects to drive change. Exceptional knowledge with coding and health plan behaviors in reimbursement and denials is required. Experience leading billing operations at healthcare startup companies is a plus.


Responsibilities 

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and business partners to implement new billing systems, coding strategies and processes, then develop improvements that support revenue cycle goals
  • Develop best practice methodology for billing system and process optimization
  • Collaborate with Finance to evaluate and recommend optimal revenue cycle organizational structure and standard metrics to monitor billing, collections and revenue
  • Work in collaboration with senior leaders, Commercial, and Customer support
  • Own the end-to-end monthly client billing process in our ERP to ensure timely and accurate monthly bills.
  • Work closely with Finance and Clinical Operations to monitor trends in denials, appeals and revenue
  • Work proactively and closely with the compliance team on regulatory matters
  • Ensure consistent and actionable communication with key customers
  • Work with Finance and compliance to ensure compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports. Advise management of actions and potential risks.
  • Provide reporting and feedback to various departments for correct coding and billing of patient accounts
  • Develop, implement, and drive organizational policies and best practices
  • Coach, develop and mentor team members to support their development, and positively contribute to the development of team culture
  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiencies within the billing department
  • Work closely with the Commercial team to ensure appropriate reimbursement and claim requirements

Qualifications 

  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of CPT coding and ICD-10 with previous experience working at healthcare startup companies
  • Minimum 10 years billing operations experience in healthcare startup companies
  • Leadership and start up experience in medical billing and revenue cycle is required
  • Experience in implementing or enhancing billing systems is required
  • Experience with billing monthly, client billings as well as billing through claims is required
  • Strong understanding the claim submission process and ability to verify the transmission of electronic claims
  • Knowledge of standard healthcare remark and reason codes driving denials
  • Experience working with sensitive patient information
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to handle a wide variety of work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, self-starting, and have an ability to prioritize workloads
  • Experience in a complex shared service environment with multiple reporting relationships
  • Experience managing complex/large scale/ transformational projects, including demonstrated success in coordinating billing system implementation.
  • Knowledge of all payer types, related healthcare terminology and institutional billing
  • Significant experience with billing operations is needed, shown knowledge of billing compliance
  • Experience with NetSuite a plus.
  • Technical computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Google Sheets etc).
  • Compliance, Law & Ethics (HIPPA) knowledge is preferred

Compensation and Benefits  

The compensation range for this position is $150,000-$165,000 annually.
