Job Description

NS1 is looking for a Senior Manager, Release and Reliability to join NS1 Engineering in the Global Infrastructure organization. This remote role can be based in the US or Republic of Ireland, and works with a fast-growing and talented team distributed across multiple continents.

You will:

You will be a main intersection point across the business at NS1, facilitating collaboration between engineering and other core teams. You will work closely with engineering leadership to design and enact necessary change as the company evolves.

  • Directly manage the Release and Reliability team, with a primary responsibility to manage the growth and performance of your team members.
  • Implement and evolve effective continuous integration and DevOps practices.
  • Coordinate build and test frameworks with both the Product Engineering and Infrastructure teams.
  • Be responsible for the software release process and successful delivery of product artifacts.
  • Build a culture of feedback between teams and peers.
  • Nurture an environment on your team that aligns with NS1’s core values and supports a space for technical expertise and excellent engineering.
Ideally you’ll bring:
  • At least 5 years of people management experience for technical teams with demonstrated experience mentoring, growing and promoting individuals on a team.
  • Substantial experience (hands-on or direct management of team) with modern CI/CD and monolithic build systems, including experience planning and executing successful migration to modern CI/CD. 
  • Considerable experience managing observability systems (hands-on or direct management of team).
  • Strong familiarity with modern SRE concepts
  • Experience maintaining Jenkins pipeline
  • Overwhelming passion for building appropriate, reliable automation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated comfort with remote communication culture. 
  • Resourceful, creative, pragmatic, empathetic, efficient and curious.
  • Willingness and ability to cover on-call rotation if needed by the team. 
  • Extra kudos for:
    • Experience managing multiple, global teams.
    • Experience with containers and microservices.
    • Internet infrastructure domain experience, including system administration
    • Experience with multiple cloud, managed and colo providers.
