Acting as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, you will translate highly technical regulatory requirements into practical, business-focused solutions that support growth and mitigate risk. The role combines regulatory expertise, operational oversight, and team leadership across a highly cross-functional environment. You will partner closely with supply chain, legal, finance, and operations teams to embed compliance into everyday processes. This is a high-visibility position with direct impact on risk management, cost optimization, and global trade strategy execution.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead and continuously develop the global trade compliance program, ensuring compliance with U.S. and international regulations including EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and customs requirements.
  • Oversee all import and export activities, including classification, valuation, licensing, documentation, country-of-origin determinations, and free trade agreement compliance.
  • Manage duty recovery initiatives and customs optimization programs to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert advising senior leadership on trade compliance risks, mitigation strategies, and regulatory developments.
  • Monitor evolving trade regulations, assess business impact, and communicate actionable updates across the organization.
  • Lead audits, internal investigations, compliance assessments, and voluntary disclosures as required.
  • Act as key liaison with regulatory agencies, customs authorities, freight forwarders, and external advisors.
  • Design and deliver trade compliance training programs across global business functions.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a small team of trade compliance professionals while fostering a strong compliance culture.

  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade, Law, Transportation, or a related field.
    • 15+ years of experience in global trade compliance, including proven leadership responsibility.
    • Deep expertise in U.S. export controls (EAR, ITAR), OFAC sanctions, and customs regulations.
    • Strong understanding of international trade requirements, import/export operations, and regulatory frameworks.
    • Experience working with global trade management systems and restricted-party screening tools.
    • Proven ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into practical business guidance.
    • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk-based decision-making skills.
    • Experience in multinational, cross-functional environments with global supply chain exposure.
    • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) and/or Certified Export Compliance Professional (CECP) preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

    • Benefits:

      • Competitive base salary range: $175,000 – $190,000, plus annual incentive bonus and equity eligibility.
      • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, prescription drug, and life insurance coverage.
      • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match.
      • Paid vacation, sick leave, and disability coverage.
      • Flexible work-from-home arrangement with remote-first structure.
      • Employee product discounts and additional perks.
      • Strong professional development opportunities and leadership growth potential.
      • Collaborative and inclusive culture with cross-functional global exposure.
