About the Role:

At Motive, the growth marketing team is responsible for maximizing growth and new customer acquisition across all that we do. The responsibilities of the team span the entire customer journey - from the first touchpoint to upsell and retention. We put the user first - ensuring we are delivering on our core value proposition and putting the right message in the right moment. 

As the senior manager of web technology, you’ll serve as a crucial link between marketing and engineering. You will partner with business stakeholders and then translate that vision into scalable capabilities. You’ll own the web technology stack and partner directly with engineering to implement your vision, often getting into the weeds on specific technical design.

The ideal candidate can connect all the dots between the front-end user experience and the marketing and engineering teams that control their UI. You will be equally comfortable discussing traditional marketing disciplines and working anywhere in our current technology stack, forming our technological roadmap, driving cross-functional programs, and delivering new capabilities to enable our marketers. 

You will be part of an extremely talented team of digital marketers and designers who will rely on you as a tech evangelist for a variety of digital tools and collaborate to develop strategies that drive acquisition growth. 

This role is remote and based in the US.

As a bonus, you’ll be able to embed yourself deep into the world of the physical economy and help understand the forces that govern it.

What You'll Do:
  • Be the owner of our web tech stack, including our CMS, web personalization, live chat, web instrumentation, and more
  • Provide strategic and tactical direction to engineering teams doing hands on work launching and deploying solutions 
  • Identify new opportunities to contribute to the continuous improvement of the web tech stack, scalable processes, and work methods.
  • Lead large cross-functional projects as the business expert and technical stakeholder, including working with engineers, analysts, web strategists and marketing operations specialists 
  • Represent a technical point of view during the implementation and selection of solutions and cross-functional projects.
  • Provide hands-on management and implementation support during discovery, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation phases when launching new capabilities
What We're Looking For:
  • 7+ years experience in web with hands on experience building and deploying solutions 
  • 5+ years of experience as a developer with an ability to build scalable solutions and design creative approaches to problems
  • 2+ years of marketing solutions architecture experience required (Salesforce, Marketo, WordPress, Google Analytics, data warehouses, tag management etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Management Information Systems / Information Technology / Computer Science or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of a wide range of marketing technology e.g. web marketing and analytics, marketing automation, personalization, paid media, CDP, DMP, data warehouses, reporting, etc.
  • Broad knowledge of web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, style sheets, MMPs, Analytics tracking and Dashboarding, APIs etc.)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to collaborate and build consensus across teams
  • Passionate technologist with a love of continued education to consistently stay on top of MarTech trends
