Senior Marketing Manager
Job Description
“Know the customer. Know the magic. Connect the two.” - Steve Vranakis, executive creative director of Google Creative Lab
TAG's Marketing team aims to bridge the gap between our clients and their customers. We believe the best marketing straddles the art of personalized messaging and the science of precise delivery to facilitate the building of valuable relationships. Both the art and science of marketing are about finding patterns and continual iteration, not perfection.
We’re looking for a self-driven, creative, and passionate marketing manager who will be critical in ideating, planning, and managing marketing experiences that deliver value for our clients. You will have the unique opportunity to support in shaping industry-leading marketing research, customer journey mapping, and full-funnel strategies that revolutionize how our clients reach, engage, and activate key audiences. You have expertise in leveraging best-in-class marketing tools and thrive in the creative power of nuances to deliver custom-built marketing approaches for each client.
Who you are:
- A proactive marketer who continuously seeks new, innovative ways to level up their marketing approach and delivery. You never get too comfortable in your skill sets.
- A marketing risk taker. You’d rather ask for forgiveness than permission.
- A strategic marketer who always starts with the end in mind. You answer, “What does success look like?” before, “Which marketing channels do we need?”
- An expert at audience research and mapping a comprehensive customer journey. Boilerplate journey funnels make you gag.
- Data-informed marketing researcher who lives on uncovering “ah-ha!” insights that make a client’s eyes light up.
What you will do:
Ideate
- Conduct planning discussions with clients to identify needs, pain points, budgets, and value-based measurements of success.
- Expertly map customer journeys to uncover where key audiences prefer to consume information and which types of messaging best engage them.Â
- Perform marketing audits to uncover existing messaging gaps and opportunities based on audience insights.
- Conduct competitive analysis to understand the client’s positioning and market share and identify opportunities to capture growth.Â
Plan
- Own the development of integrated marketing strategies and roadmaps that are the backbone of successfully connecting our clients with their customers. This includes defining measurable outcomes, audience and budget forecasting, marketing channel mix recommendations, messaging strategies, asset guidelines, and more.
- Review strategies and plans with internal and client stakeholders to ensure alignment.
- Set up marketing analysis dashboards to monitor and report on measurable outcomes, marketing insights, and opportunities to improve performance. This includes working with clients to define data sources of truth and integrating multiple analytics tools (GA, Salesforce, HubSpot, Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, SEMRush, and more).
Manage
- Oversee marketing strategy implementation, ensuring best-in-class processes are followed within each marketing channel (search, paid advertising, email, and more). This includes both owning in-platform execution and potentially managing contractors supporting execution.
- Cross-collaborate with design and creative teams to ensure messaging outputs align with the wider strategy and follow advertising and UX best practices.
- Monitor marketing performance across all executed channels to ensure the strategy is on pace to achieve defined measurable outcomes. This includes in-platform budget tracking, conversion tracking, ad serving, audience engagement indicators, and more.
- Based on data analysis, provide ongoing optimizations to continually improve audience reach and engagement performance from marketing channels.
- Be a leading voice, both client-facing and internally, to ensure marketing efforts align with overarching business goals and OKRs.
Iterate
- Lead performance reporting meetings to review actions, insights, and optimization opportunities with clients.
- Discuss with clients any shifts in priorities or measurable outcome targets.
- Take learnings from performance reporting meetings and develop an optimization roadmap to implement.
- Rinse and repeat.
What you should have:
- 5-7 years of experience managing B2B and eComm marketing accounts at a medium to enterprise-size agency.Â
- Expertise and certifications in best-in-class marketing tools: Google Ads, Google Analytics, Lookr Studio, SEMRush, HubSpot, SalesForce, Meta, LinkedIn, etc.
- Expertise of the latest marketing approaches, best practices, and tools in B2B and eComm.
- Great communication skills -- you know how to get your point across to anyone who will listen, and your passion and enthusiasm motivate your colleagues to innovate.
- The ability to roll with anything -- moving targets, competing commitments, bring them on.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, journalism, or digital communications.
