Senior Medical Director/Medical Director - Remote

Position Summary: 

The Medical Director/Sr. Medical Director serves as the project physician and provides medical and scientific expertise to project teams. The Medical Director/Sr Medical Director’s primary focus of work will be to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data resulting from the trial, with concentrated focus on patient safety. This position also participates in the strategic planning and execution of critical development programs for a variety of clients in oncology, contributes to the development of Precision’s Medical team, and supports occasional Business Development activities.    

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:  

• Serve as project physician to provide medical and scientific expertise to project teams
• Review and revise protocols, case report forms, training materials, project specific tools, analysis plans, study designs, clinical trial reports
• Review laboratory values, adverse events, coding dictionaries and data tables, listings and 
  figures as needed  
• Assist in the preparation of the Medical Monitoring Plan (if required) and materials for investigator 
  meetings, dose escalation and/or safety committee meetings  
• Assume responsibility for medical and safety monitoring on assigned projects interacting with other 
  team members and clients as needed  
• Participate in feasibility discussions relating to specific project proposals  
• Develop training modules and provides training in disease states for assigned projects and studies and also for company-wide training when needed  
• Participate in training opportunities to advance knowledge of drug development and Good Clinical 

Practice Guidelines

• Collaborates within Medical Science to support growth of the business by participating in business development activities

• i.e. proposal development and providing medical considerations, or attendance at bid defense meetings, or other areas
• Level of support to differ based on business need and experience level of Medical Director

 Minimum Required: 

• MD, DO, MBBS, or equivalent medical qualifications  
• 5-9 years of clinical experience for Medical Director role; 10+ years for Sr. Medical Director role

Other Required: 

• Completed an accredited medical residency program  
• 5+ years of experience in oncology or hematologic oncology clinical research 
• Demonstrated expertise around the lifecycle of oncology drug development with ability to strategically analyze solid tumor and hematologic oncology clinical trial protocols
• Availability for domestic and international travel including overnight stays (up to 20% travel depending on project needs and stage) 

Preferred: 

• Drug development experience in oncology  
• Oncology and/or Hematology Fellowship or equivalent
• Board Certification in Oncology and/or Hematology or equivalent 
• Phase I and Phase II oncology clinical trial experience 
• Prior CRO experience
• Maintains current scientific and medical knowledge base
