Senior Medical Science Liaison

About You

We are looking for a talented individual to grow and strengthen our medical affairs team in the Senior Medical Science Liaison. In this role, you will be a true scientific and medical expert and an extension of Nutrafol's clinical and medical affairs. You will build and facilitate strategic peer to peer relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) nationally, providing credible and unbiased scientific information, executing the strategic Medical Affairs plan and supporting home office medical activities as needed. The role reports directly to the Vice President, Clinical & Medical Affairs.

The successful candidate will have a Doctoral-level educational background in the life sciences and a minimum of 3-4 years relevant experience in Field Medical Affairs, as well as the ability to conduct literature searches and understand scientific and clinical information, disseminating that knowledge to diverse healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of Nutrafol, its products, and current medical/scientific research & publications within the hair and dermatological space
• Establish Nutrafol’s Medical Affairs presence in the medical community through long-term and valued scientific relationships with thought leaders and the medical community
• Represent Nutrafol at all scientifically and medically relevant events in a designated geographical area
• Provide medical/scientific presentations to internal and external groups
• Provide internal stakeholders with feedback and insights from field interactions and discussions with KOLs
• Provide support at professional meetings and congresses, collecting insights and competitive intelligence, and developing tools that support medical functions at the meeting
• Share clinical and value-based expertise in the development and management of clinical and scientific communications for customers, including publications, conference data, and educational materials
• Support commercial team functions by facilitating internal training and scientific material review, assisting with speaker programs, and providing competitive insights
• Adhere to corporate and healthcare compliance guidance in all activities
• Support additional aspects of the medical affairs function & team as necessary

Requirements

• Doctorate in life sciences or related field (PharmD, MD, DO or PhD)
• 3-4 years of field Medical Affairs experience
• Dermatology experience, including product launch experience
• Solid understanding of the pharmaceutical and wellness industry along with basic knowledge and understanding of clinical trials
• General business acumen, organizational, and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Ability to clearly articulate complex scientific concepts in 1:1 and group settings
• Strong team player with the ability to effectively interface with other internal departments including marketing, sales, product development, medical and clinical affairs
• Ability to adapt, prioritize, think critically & creatively, and problem-solve both independently and in a matrix team environment
• Strong sense of integrity and an ethical approach to promoting the development of treatments for patients
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) & Google Suite.
• Ability and willingness to travel nationally, including weekend and overnight travel
