We are looking for an experienced back-office engineer interested in taking Reddit’s Financial integrations and internal applications to the next level! You will have the opportunity to play a critical role in the success of our support and architecture success as we scale our teams and applications to support high growth. 

You would be joining the IT Engineering group, a back-office engineering team focused on developing highly available and reliable integration services, internal applications, and developing our business applications delivering scalability, and assisting Reddit’s rapid growth. The group has a wide range of tools available within their quiver to accomplish these goals, ranging from the NetSuite development platform and iPaaS tools to our Kubernetes platform.

In this role, you will partner closely with IT members & finance business partners, working within the Finance Internal Products scrum team. The ideal candidate for this position thrives on improving finance business processes through creative solutions and automation; this candidate will be pivotal in defining the “How” and coming up with Technical Design Documents to help augment the Product Requirement Documents that the team produces. 

• This role is an excellent opportunity to grow professionally as you will be working cross-functionally with multiple business partners, including Engineering, Finance, and FP&A, on customizing Reddit’s NetSuite platform to meet evolving business needs.
• This role will include SuiteScript development, configuration changes, testing, troubleshooting, process engineering, and creating searches and reports.
• Leveraging the knowledge of NetSuite’s SDN and SDF program, SuiteCloud Web Services, and other APIs to deploy objects to production or integrate data.
• Triage and correct performance and data integrity concerns by reviewing and evaluating code, data patches, system logs, and process/memory/disk consumption utilization.
• Design, implement, and maintain configurations and customizations of NetSuite and ancillary software connections to meet evolving needs.
• Participate in cross-functional technical design sessions and develop detailed technical design documentation taking fault-tolerant event handling and monitoring into account.
• Lead by example to improve development standards, quality, and processes.
• Communicate effectively to cross-functional personnel with varying degrees of technical proficiency by leading meetings, delivering presentations, and timely status updates.
• Handle ambiguity and work effectively in a fast-paced agile environment
• Participate in code reviews for ongoing projects to ensure code quality is at the highest level possible and appropriate design patterns are used.
• Partner closely with our IT product managers, architects, and organizational partners to turn business needs into high-quality, scalable, secure systems.
• Evaluate APIs for potential IT business systems and communicate with vendor’s technical resources
• Quickly learn new technologies, think out-of-the-box to find creative solutions, and communicate to technical and non-technical audiences.

• You should be both a rock-solid coder and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low-level systems and design broad distributed system interactions.

• 5+ years of experience with NetSuite development tools such as SuiteFlow, SuiteScript, SuiteBundler, SuiteCloud Development Framework (SDF), Map Reduce, and APM.
• Understanding of system integration capabilities in NetSuite, including SuiteTalk (REST and SOAP) and SuiteAnalytics Connect
• Functional solid experience with financial/accounting processes in NetSuite
• Strong working knowledge of SuiteScript 1.0, 2.X., and experience with NetSuite SuiteCloud Development Framework (SDF) and development tools like Webstorm or Visual Studio
• Typescript/ Javascript development experience, both client-side and server-side scripting, and debugging experience
• Expert knowledge of roles, permissions, page layouts, custom objects, reports and dashboards
• Experience working within a cross-functional development team and utilizing software engineering best practices such as unit testing, source control systems, code reviews, and advanced design patterns.
• Strong familiarity with “cloud computing” and web technologies PaaS, SaaS, IPaaS
• Experience writing technical design documentation, runbooks, and detailed technical requirement specifications.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required.

• Experience delivering in an agile software development environment.
• Aptitude for understanding and troubleshooting technical problems, jumping in during business critical times to provide workarounds or solve issues.
• Experience at a public company and/or with SOX processes preferred.
• BA/BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
