The Team & Role

The People Science & Analytics team’s mission at Motive is to surface data insights, research, & evidence across the employee lifecycle for effective people-related decisions and improving the employee experience. We solve tough and exciting organizational challenges through our team’s collaborative and fun approach! This team is seeking a People Scientist to lead and evolve the employee listening efforts in the company. 

This role will specifically focus on Organizational Effectiveness - combination of employee survey work and talent management. The role will drive survey lifecycle work, identify innovative and relevant listening channels to surface insights, and help design thoughtful talent and performance management practices. You will work closely with teams within People & Places (HR), business stakeholders, and strategic partners to design, implement, and evaluate aligned content and processes to drive for employee motivation, engagement, retention and a great employee experience. As the key subject matter expert of this area you will have a deep understanding in the area of employee survey research, talent management and performance identification. You will work with key stakeholders within the team, within People & Places, and across the business to launch, analyze, disseminate programs and insights and to mobilize the company towards organizational effectiveness. 

Areas of responsibilities

  • Act as the lead on lifecycle and 360 employee surveys and listening- understanding the needs and designing/updating survey questions balancing business needs and best practice item writing protocols
  • Able to run the survey process end-to-end - fluent with survey systems such as Qualtrics or Survey Monkey to be able to program, test, launch and administer surveys and disseminate customized results dashboards to relevant audiences
  • Analyze results both from survey platform dashboards and individual advanced analyses to generate advanced insights on needles of engagement, retention, and performance 
  • Help in designing mindful talent, performance management, and succession planning frameworks
  • Identify innovative ways of tapping on additional channels that can complement the survey data for more deeper listening
  • Elevate the people analytics muscle in the company by training relevant stakeholders on how to interpret the survey/listening insights
  • Partners with the rest of the PSA team to ensure insights are holistic
  • Strong partnership skills to ensure there is buy-in for the outputs produced
  • Bias toward action planning of survey results
  • Strong project management skills and proactively keeping stakeholders informed of next steps throughout the survey and talent management process
  • Leverage data to create actionable intelligence based on scientific rigor. Synthesize data and make the case for change using evidence-based management
What We're Looking For: 
  • PhD degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology or like field  (Masters with 3+ years' experience)
  • Subject matter expertise in survey research (including 360 surveys) and talent management 
  • Strong consulting skills with the ability to interact with and influence leaders at all levels across the organization
  • Familiarity with survey platforms example- Qualtrics, survey monkey, Glint, Culture Amp, Perception etc.
  • Ideally this candidate has experience/interest in talent review and succession planning programs
  • Change management efforts through a continuous improvement mindset
