The Opportunity

This position works out of our Plano, TX location in the Neuromodulation division of Abbott. Our Neuromodulation business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. These non-opioid therapies allow us to provide interventional pain therapy to patients throughout the pain continuum, and restore the lives of those living with debilitating motion disorders

What You'll Work On

• Performs complex assignments requiring a high degree of technical competence.
• Plans, organizes, and conducts technical projects.
• Consolidates results of design elements of major projects for purpose of design review.
• Synthesizes Proven Approaches: Integrates multiple approaches to solve problems or optimize solutions in complex or cross functional manufacturing processes or product designs.
• Translates Regulatory Requirements into Validation Process: Creates efficient protocols for validation of complex system functions and defines validation process.
• Receives general direction, exercises considerable discretion as to personal work details as well as the work details of other technical personnel.
• Reviews, generates, and approves related inputs such as drawings and specifications.
• Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• 8+ years of relevant work experience
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience using electrical circuit design tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Engineering
• Experience with firmware/software integration
• Experience co-developing vision, charting course and leading the way in a complex technical domain
• Experience with electromechanical implantable devices
• Medical device experience or demonstrated ability to work within a highly regulated enviroment
