We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager, Activation to lead our self-serve and growth efforts within Muck Rack’s product organization.Â
As our first Senior Product Manager, Activation, your mission will be to own Muck Rack’s strategies for user engagement to drive business growth through initiatives like evolving our free experience, onboarding, and self-serve opportunities… just to name a few. You will be responsible for owning key parts of the customer lifecycle and the metrics that define success.You will work with a team of engineers, designers, and researchers to define your product and experiment roadmap that will help us hit our company targets and improve the customer experience.

What you’ll do:- Lead a product development team while working with cross functional product and design teams to drive adoption of our features by ensuring value is obvious at every step
- Own and deliver on strategic growth experiments and discovery of new product initiatives
- Identify and reduce friction points to increase speed of conversations, conversion rates, and product sourced land and expand revenue
- Evaluate existing onboarding funnel optimization opportunities and conduct large scale hypothesis-driven feature development through qualitative and quantitative research and A/B, multivariate tests
- Conduct post-launch evaluations that measure the success of new products in hitting KPIs
- Understand the levers that drive your lifecycle area, and report on those levers at a regular cadence
- Collaborate with Business Intelligence team, data analyst, product designers and our Customer Success and Sales Team to understand the problems and pain points that our users are experiencing and identify how we can unlock more transactions and increase conversion rates
- Engage with stakeholders across GTM, product marketing, revenue, and support to make sure we deliver a great end to end experience for our customers
- Propose new processes to continuously improve the way we work or help our customers
- Join the Product Growth team at the ground floor and have a say in how we define product growth at Muck Rack.
- Product Experimentation & Execution: Turns data-backed hypotheses into experiments to test against key performance indicators, and measures how each change may affect those metrics.
- Data-Driven Roadmap: Build out clearly defined experimentation pipelines with defined goals, tracking metrics, expected results, and report on results and recommendations on a regular cadence.
- Customer First: Work directly with users and customer facing teams to build an understanding of user data and feedback, synthesize across multiple sources, and creatively connect it to improve the customer journey.
- Collaboration: Build strong relationships cross-functionally and cross-departmentally to ensure successful feature adoption and minimal disruption.
- Experience driving activation and retention across multiple large product initiative, where you can take rough themes and turn them into goal-oriented features, experiences and research with minimal guidance
- Deep knowledge of business metrics and how driving product experiences drive revenue and business outcomes, and cross-referencing with product usage, user metrics, and analytics available
- Experience in using product development tools (ex. JIRA, Shortcut or Linear), navigating product analytics (ex. Heap, Pendo), and collaborative tools (ex. Miro, FigJam, LucidCharts, etc.)
- Comfort with instrumenting and using experimentation tools (ex. Optimizely, Google Optimize)
- Experience leading a product development team shipping user-facing features that drive retention and activation from existing customer base and from new users
- Applied experience with UX research including but not limited to; user interviews, workshops, surveys, diary studies and other mixed methods
- Strong collaborating that enjoy partnering with other product teams, revenue teams, and has the ability to work independently in a proactive and organized manner
- 4-5 years professional experience, in Product Management, with 2+ years of related experience activation, growth, business development, product analysis, or marketing

In the US, the starting salary for this role is between $110,000 - $152,000+, depending on skills and experience. We take a geo-neutral approach to compensation within the US, meaning that we pay based on job function and level, not location. For all other countries, we have competitive pay bands based on market standards.
Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors. We recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. Transparent Compensation. We offer competitive geo-neutral pay in the U.S. and review compensation at least once annually to ensure internal equity and alignment with the external market. Depending on the role, we offer either a standardized bonus program or attainable commission structure and an opportunity to earn equity in the company. All employees are eligible for our 401(k) plan* with employer contributions.
