The Opportunity
This position works out of our Lake County, IL location in the Business and Technology Services Division.
As the Senior Program Manager, you'll have the opportunity to lead and manage programs supporting our Corporate Finance & Administration (CF&A) Organization through all phases of the software development lifecycle including collaboration with business stakeholders and IT colleagues. This role ensures the system portfolio enhances the business strategy through successful, consistent, and predictable delivery of programs, projects, and applications.
What You'll Work On
The Senior Program Manager leads and manages the project portfolio in the Record to Report (RTR), Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and Expert Functions (Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, Customs) domains. The Senior Program Manager:
- Works with Strategic Business and Executive IT management to establish project goals and business case. Helps set strategic IT direction
- Assesses the degree to which changes to scope, issues and risks will affect projects working with division or senior/executive management and sponsor to gain agreement for resolution
- Measures performance to assure the project is progressing as compared to original plan and budget
- Manages full lifecycle of programs (i.e., demand management through execution and closure)
- Leads project managers and teams in developing and executing a program plan ensuring that authorized resources are obtained to make certain that all activities are performed. Gather lessons learned and obtain final project approval from sponsor and stakeholders.
- Ensures that IT solutions are delivered on-time, on-budget (i.e., expense, capital, and ROI), and meet the needs of the business
- Analyzes resource capacity to meet current and future demands
- Coordinate resources to ensure program and business needs are addressed through proactive priority management with business leaders
- Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to Project Team, Division, Cross Division and Executive management. Makes recommendations based on current project status to resolve issues.
- Is responsible for all aspects of people leadership for direct reporting and manages, motivates, and mentors cross-functional and enterprise project teams
- Establishes and maintains high-quality relationships with all levels across the company and with external partners
- Is responsible for compliance with applicable corporate and divisional policies and procedures.
- Manages Programs /projects at the division or enterprise level
- Make strategic decisions that impact Division or site
- Oversees Direct/Indirect Budget Responsibility: $0MM - $9MM or greater in business financial impact
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, Computer Science, or related discipline
- At least 12 yrs. experience in project management, business systems analysis, software development or deployment, employee development and strategic planning with a minimum of 9 years managing projects
- Strong written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with finance (e.g., Record To Report, Financial Planning & Analysis, Audit, Tax or Treasury) and/or Procurement solutions
- Experience with BTS SLC and Abbott business processes
