Purpose:The main purposes of this position are to ensure accurate payments from government and other payers via the cost reporting process and to ensure all cost reports are in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. It is also responsible for the accurate recording of third party payments for the system`s financial statements and the completion of financial models used to forecast future reimbursement. This position is highly technical in nature requiring a strong background and knowledge of the complex laws and regulations governing reimbursement of patient care services. It is also viewed by the hospitals and home care finance staffs as a resource to be used in determining various actions or responses related to third party payments. Primarily remote work from home role.Accountabilities:On an annual basis complete and file Medicare and Medicaid cost reports which are compliant with all pertinent rules and regulations and ensures each facility receives all payments to which it is legally entitled.Compute on a monthly quarterly and annual basis net revenue due from Medicare Medicaid and managed care patient encounters and ensure the amounts are correctly recorded on each hospital`s income statement. Alsocompletion of analyses needed to ensure the third party section of the balance sheet is properly recorded.Assist in the computation of the expected hospitals net revenue as part of the annual financial forecasting cycle. This may include the following annual events: 1) budget 2) forecast 3) five year plan 4) other analyses as requiredPosition Requirements:8 plus years in a hospital or home office settingBA/BS in Accounting Familar with Microsoft Office programsCPA preferredAbility to work independently and under stressful conditionsStrong interpersonal and writing skills required in order to communicate both verbally and in writing with external and internal stakeholders.
