Job Description
Tiverton is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development professional with a track record of originating loans and fostering business relationships within the industry. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive growth and expand our presence in the agricultural sector while providing valuable financial support to farmers and agribusinesses.Â
Primary ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Client forward position to foster and build presence in key production regionsÂ
- Engage in business development activities to identify and evaluate potential credit investments
- Assist the team with analyzing and conducting due diligence and underwriting on private investments (both credit and equity)
- Perform and develop industry/sector research and analysisÂ
- Prepare regular reports and updates on sales activities, pipeline status, and market trends
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including underwriters and loan officers, to facilitate the loan application process and ensure timely fundingÂ
- Represent Tiverton at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote the Tiverton brand and network with potential clients and partnersÂ
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the loan lifecycle, building long-term relationships and fostering client loyaltyÂ
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive developments to inform business decisions and maintain a competitive edgeÂ
- Assist in the preparation of investment memorandums, present recommendations, and due diligence findings to internal committees and investorsÂ
- Support fundraising initiatives and investor needsÂ
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, agriculture, or related field; advanced degree preferredÂ
- 5+ years of experience in agricultural finance, with a focus on loan origination and business developmentÂ
- Strong relationship management, sales, and business development skillsÂ
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets and driving revenue growth
- Strong understanding of agricultural lending principles, financial analysis, and risk assessmentÂ
- Ability to comprehend and negotiate complex and sensitive transactionsÂ
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with diverse stakeholdersÂ
- Ability to work both independently and as a productive member of transaction teamsÂ
- Advanced Microsoft Office skillsÂ
- Willingness to travel within the Pacific Northwest (OR, WA & ID) region as needed

Location: While this position is remote, we require candidates to be located in the Pacific Northwest region.Â
