Senior Research Engineer

The Role:

Work as part of a tightly-knit team to design, develop, implement, and demonstrate advanced algorithms and software systems, with an eye toward deployment into external customer environments. Collaborate with external stakeholders and partners to access data and integrate systems. While your initial focus will be on programs supporting graph-based reasoning systems, this role will provide access and exposure to a range of projects that support helping humans make better decisions.

This role will take advantage of STR’s flexible, hybrid environment – when the work does not require use of STR’s facilities, you are welcome to work remotely.
Who You Are:

• BS in Computer Science or related technical field with 5+ years’ experience
• Demonstrated expertise in Python
• A demonstrated ability to quickly adopt new languages, libraries, and technologies

• U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Security Clearance

Even Better:

• MS in Computer Science or related technical field
• Demonstrated experience in multiple programming languages
• Experience with any/all of the following:
  • Elasticsearch and/or JanusGraph
  • Integration of complex software systems
  • Graph analytics
  • Rust
  • DevOps or CI/CD tools such as Gitlab
  • Container/virtualization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Agile software lifecycle methodologies and tools, such as JIRA
  • Knowledge representation/ontologies
• Active Security Clearance
